App Suggestions Please
Please share your app suggestions for melodic percussion (designer or sample based).
Already own Mersenne and absolutely love it! Wish there was more like it, hence this post.

Impaktor is fun, but not much control over the melody.
Have you looked at Ripplemaker or one of the Ruismakers?
Impaktor IS fun, and you DO have control with tuning by pressing the SCALE button
Edit - now I've looked at Impaktor, it's the PITCH button just below the scale title... select/highlight only the notes you want to sound.
If you own Gadget I really like the Changmai’s metallic/glassy percussive sounds for melodic components of beats
Might also look at that new free FM Player synth.
Love impaktor but wish there was a work around without using headphones. Tried the piezo trigger idea but didnt work that well for me. Still that app is a fav and one of the best ideas yet
SpringSound
I wonder if the updated sound engine will ever get released. Have you heard any news of an approaching update?
Not a word. I did not hear about that.
For live performance? If so, +1 for Impaktor. TC-11 might be also interesting. Orphion maybe?
I've never considered or tried it but now that you're asking... what about loading Drum Jam slots with the same instrument and then tuning them?
+1. Wish it could be mapped to MIDI velocity. Though, maybe that happened and I missed it.
Considering it ran on a 3G, maybe it's time for Impaktor Studio? A 6-8 channel version with a drum sequencer and parameter locking? If it responded to MIDI Velocity, you could hook up an electronic drumset or mulit-pad to it without resorting to using 5 iphones as some of actually done! Folks want it! The synth engine itself remains really interesting to me.
I was just reading the release notes from the last update from a year ago. The app is rarely mentioned around here, so just thought I would ask you.

Groove Rider GR-16.
My fav PPG apps make nice percussive sounds. Any of the Ice apps like you have said with Mersenne. Also FM apps do decent percussive sounds. Bram Bos apps PhaseMaker, RippleMaker and the RuisMakers are all worth having.
Saying all that, there are so many great sample sets around that mostly I can’t be bothered to make my own often lol
It is a very good underrated app that is often in my workflow.

When you guys are using Impaktor, what are you using for a mic?
I just place the iPad on a table and tap around (and sometimes on) it in various different ways and with whatever is to hand, like coffee mug, pen etc.. I've made nearly a thousand samples from Impaktor in this way for a Reason refill I'm building.
