  • Cool. Let us know about the music apps, if there’s any noticeable performance differencein either direction.I only use my 6 for music. Thanks !

And yes, disabling WiFi from the "thump up" menu does not disable the WiFi....
    What a strange idea :o :o :o

The same is true for Bluetooth.
    I spare further comments :|

Also, this menu now has ugly graphics and - of course - lost overview and usability!

    What else...

I would swear that formerly, the Apps in the Dock did show their names?!?
Now, there are no names (anymore?)

And checking my storage, I cannot see what's free anymore!
Instead, you need to calculate the difference between "all" and "used" :| :| :|

These are all nitpicks, and my disabling wireless and bluetooth works just fine.

Not from the "thumb up" menu, as it mentions iOS itself, when trying to do so the first time.
To disable WiFi and BlueTooth, you need to enter the Settings App and disable them there!

I will say that I’m on iPad not phone, but I just did both to make sure. The only difference is it only disables them for a day (ex WiFi disabled until tomorrow).

    Before getting into arguments:

    https://www.macrumors.com/2017/09/20/bluetooth-wifi-not-disabled-ios-11-control-center/

Just Google for this, you will find lotsssss of sites to confirm this

Ok, i got you. I just tested disabling my wifi from my home network and tried connecting my bluetooth speaker. I wasn’t aware of all those extra caveats, my fault.

This is the result of Apples "wireless strategy". In theory, when you look into the details, you can name a few advantages. Main advantage: Always on, always sending packages of information for and from your internet of shit - Apple can generate big data to optimize profits.

(your) Data is the new oil. Really.

  • Which version did you upgrade from? I’m assuming iOS 10?

FWIW, the Bluetooth thing was extremely convenient when I wore an Apple Watch, and the WiFi thing has saved me more than a little bit of data already. I have spotty WiFi at work so I regularly switch it off — prior to iOS 11, I would sometimes forget to turn it back on when I got home. Now it senses that I’m in a new location and automatically reconnects. I’m not using any Bluetooth devices or services right now so I switched it off in Settings and it’s completely off.

The App Store redesign is contentious but it only took me a few days to get used to it. I actually check the Games and Apps tabs now because they’re not nearly as dominated by knockoff apps, and the flip side of not having a wish list is that I forget which apps I want and never wind up buying them... so the joke is on Apple. I also personally enjoy the detailed write ups on the Today page — they’ve had some interesting developer interviews and “deep dives,” including one for Moog. And they feature quite a few small/indie devs. Maybe some day soon Bram Bos will get a much-deserved Today feature!

One nice thing that’s new to 11.2.5 is that you can view your hidden apps from your Account page. You still need a desktop to unhide them but it’s a step in the right direction IMO.
