The supposed big brother is the big corporations and is not supposed at all. It is easy to dismiss it as some kind of a new age hippy notion but in the world where corporate trumps social it is too right to expect the worst.
Where if not in the safety of your home that you discuss important decisions? Buying a house, getting married/divorced, buying a car, changing a job. If you think this information doesn't get stored for further use you're living on another planet.
It's not the corporations that are your enemy, it's the governments. And they already have access to everything anyway. So relax (and don't believe the government propaganda that the "evil corporations" are "stealing your data". That's just the thief screaming "STOP THE THIEF!!!"

Ha! I actually got the idea for this meme after overhearing some poor soul going “Hey Siri!” “Hey Siri! “Hey Siri!” over and over. I was like: “Open the cover, bro.”

No one needs to steal your data.
Everyone already gave away their name, birthday, names of all their pets and kids, their favorite books, music, TV shows, medical history, school and work history, as well as the search history, time, IP address, GPS location of every time you’ve ever used the internet— all given away WILLINGLY (though perhaps not obviously) to Facebook, Linked In, Google, etc. If the NSA wants to know everything about you, they can just go to Facebook.
Back in the early days of the emerging web, data mining and cryptomarketing, a colleague of mine at a major media corporation undergoing business model transformation once said one of my favorite quotes to describe the post-scarcity/post-privacy era: “Nothing is more costly than something given away for free.”
Never ever use Siri on my iPhone or iPad yet. No need.
