    Loopy Pro

    It's alive ;)

I was going to say, I thought it was more like SampleBot was birthed to be fed to Loopy Pro at the right time, then Loopy Pro will consume it and take on its powers. :

Egads, that looks to be quite an adventure. I assume you got that critter out--dead or alive?

  • Yep the little blighter crawled out after an interminable five minutes.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH my clever app analogy led me to see something I never should have seen. Now, how to wash away those images out of my mind. Warning: Michael’s Twitter post should be viewed as text only, don’t click on the YouTube videos.

Sorry you had to go through that :frowning: Michael

Luckily, I couldn’t get past the first words of the search, so not too much damage to my psyche. And, I’m happy for you that it wasn’t any worse. And now back to LOOPY PRO!

  • It's not spiders that worry us, it's Australian spiders....

Btw, the next version is gonna offer a lot more configurations so you can have heaps of pads, and pages too; I've > actually just bought a Launchpad so I can start figuring out the best way to support that and similar grid controllers.

Hi mike - dunno if your app already does this - but i've found no app ( or plugin ) out there which does the following - and i'd really like it of some app did:

I have some drum loop libraries which have the typical intro loops, vamp loops, fill loops and then outro/end loops.

I typically audition and use these in Ableton, and have tried the usual iOS suspects - Launchpad etc..

None of these allow you simply to drag the whole collection of loops into your "grid" - but then have only ONE loop playing at any one time. Which is what i want. Ableton has mutually exclusive loop-launching for a single track- but one cannot set up several tracks and have only one triggered.

So if by chance you could add a mode where only one PAD - with a drum loop ( say 1,2,4 bars long etc ) ever fires at once -and as soon as you press a new pad the old loop keeps playing until the next bar/beat quantise takes effect ( like Ableton ) that would be great.

This kind of thing only has relevance for drum or percussion loops - where one owns a collection of what are basically variations on the same theme.

I have to admit that I immediately pictured a foot long hairy spider with a pouch for its brood.

Probably not in the current form, no, @lukesleepwalker; I have been thinking about building a sample-based synth engine which will do this sort of thing, though.

This is called choke groups, I believe, and yep, that'll be in Loopy Pro - and probably Samplebot too

+10 for choke groups :) (Just bought 10 licenses for my school’s iPads)

    Great job with SampleBot!

    Cheers Måns

It's pretty scary where you are, compared to Mid Wales. When I stayed in Colorado at one place I suggested a hike in the Rockies. 'Can't do that', our local friend warned us - 'there's been a couple of recent killings by mountain lions'. Back at their place I thought I'd take a walk through one of their fields. 'Don't', I was warned. Why? 'Full of tics this time of year. And snakes'.

We slept in a basement room, with a door to the garden. 'Please make sure the door is locked', we were warned again, 'the bears have been coming and rifling through the trash and sometimes bash against the door'. 'Oh and keep your shoes on when walking across the (deep pile) carpet, we've found a few poisonous tiny spiders'.

Terrified, last thing I saw as I went to switch off the bedside lamp was a very small spider crawling across the shade...

  • great story!

It's the drunks with shotguns I worry about most... :)
