Magellan Synth by Yonac Revisited...Wow!
What an amazing synth! I know we have a lot of greats as Zeeon, M15, LayR, and others I forget, but I saw a video on another thread which made pull out this gem and wow! I just can’t stop making presets! Amazing thing is that these are useable presets!
What an amazing job by Yonac!
With my iPad 2017 9.7 the CPU meter hardly comes up.
I really highly recommend this awesome Synth!
Did I mentioned the onboard effects? Wow!
Paired this baby up with Zeeon in AUM and my jaw hit the floor!
If you haven’t, Get it guys! You’ll be so glad.

I've always enjoyed Magellan, and wish Jr would get all it's features as I no longer have an iPad.
I share your love for Magellan, and I consider Kauldron a descendent of the Magellan ethic.
Magellan is definitely one of my favorites. In fact I don't really see a need to use Kauldron too much except that I like the layout of Kauldron just a little bit better but soundwise, Magellan is really very good. Nevertheless it never hurts to have both! :-)
Love these synths only wish they were AU
its good but i think a lot of the presets are over swamped in effects with no way of globally disabling them . even the bass patches are smothered in reverb
Actually that’s something I’m really enjoying. I like how the effects in this particular Synth play a huge part on how the sound is developed. Really nice actually and quite fun to program. The SPAWN “surprise me” button is wicked fun!
Wow Magellan currently on sale!
Valentines Day special 50% off!
Don’t walk, Run!
Does anyone have Kaspar? If so, how do you like the arpeggiator? Ease of programming, etc.
Love Magellan. Also have been blowing the dust off of it lately.
So you are saying it is worth $5 then?
Oh man worth so much more! After the endless free SPAWNED presets, worth every penny!
Just watched a few demos and bought it. This thing is a beastly wonder. I think I got this one and Kauldron for less than $10. Incredible.
Wait till you start messing with the effects!
I recommend creating your own preset folder and right before you do a save as, select the folder the do the save as to it. I love how you can email yourself the folder as a backup.
Kauldron is Au...
Personally I'm not that keen on it though, seems to generate a lot of nasty artifacts.
I agree 100% @MusicMan4Christ Yonac is one of my Top 5, probably even Top 3, favorite devs. Everything they make is stellar quality professional level stuff.
Just as I feel Neo Soul Keys is the best Rhodes/EP app for iOS I feel Galileo is the best Hammond B3/Leslie Organ app for iOS. It is incredible how realistic the sounds are and how the drawbars really effect the tone in miniscule to night & day ways.
And my fellow guitarist know amp modeling is hit or miss proposition, but pound for pound ToneStack is my favorite. Again, not trying to shill for Yonac, just trying to call it like it is.
From the effects, UI, processing demands & especially sound quality they are worth every dime.
I agree, everything is top quality from this dev. Sounds are incredible, apps are reliable and easy and fun to use. I don’t have everything yet, but Galileo and Kaspar are all that I need to be a completist.
@CracklePot I’m no keyboard whiz, I know all my chords & inversions, Piano 2 level scales & fingerings, enough to play what I want & fudge a bit later in MIDI. But Galileo is a must buy, even if just for triad pads or little Organ stabs. It just sounds so real...
Had anyone managed to use the keyboard as a controller in AUM? Your can load it into a midi channel but it didn't show up in the mapping choices...
I've had a look for you.
Select ,'Prefs',
Go about midway down on the right hand side and select midi out.
AUM should be there.
In the same screen region will be the midi outs.
Chose your channels here.
As I haven't needed to do this myself I don't know if the Magellan keyboard
sends out midi or if the Arp's do that instead or combined.
Ah, sorry, thanks, didn’t think it’d need activation
Actually, isn’t that Magellan 1? I was talking about the MPE one in the sequel...
Looks like I’m in the wrong thread, I’ll get my coat...
+1
Myself also.
