VST vs Hardware Synths - We Have a Clear Winner!

    Interesting topic , I suppose it depends whether your a synth enthusiast or not.
    I happen to be fascinated by synths..but in a busy studio , in the middle of a record , nobody gives a toss where the sound they need comes from.. they just need a sound right then and there. If it can come from a vst then great.. cos it will be in tune , and it will be very easily to manipulate , to keep or to discard. By the time somebody has warmed up a mini Moog , the session has moved on , and the part has been recorded by its vst cousin.
    The arturia imini for iPad is one of the best synthesisers I have ever played, but I’d still love to own a mini Moog.. to have and to touch. :)

    Yes....plug-ins are the clear winner. Some sounds even better than hardware because they come with more voices, superb analog modeled FX and saturation on top. My Top are still P900 and Repro. Especially P900 stands out in sound quality for me.
    There are some other good ones too....also for iOS.
    Of course we just talk about the sound they output.
    In a huge mix no one cares maybe but i love that juicy analog saturated flavor and it might be more important for creators.
