Line6 sonic port
Anyone using the line6 sonic port as part of there iOS/pc set up. I want to know if you can plug it into cck3 so that it can be used an audio card for use with guitar and to play audio from iPad from recording software?
Comments
Sonic port doesn’t connect via USB it plugs straight into iPad.
I own one; it actually does both. I use mine via the CCK3 connected to a cheap unpowered USB hub. iMPC Pro2 recognizes it perfectly.
So it does have usb connectivity?
I currently have the mobile pod which has become useless in the iPhone 8. I’m wanting to have guitar and keyboard connected at the same time.
Yeah, that’s how I have it. I connect my little MAudio Air Mini 32 along with the Sonic Port VX to the unpowered USB hub then that connects to The Cck3. Woks great!
Wait are you saying connection of a regular keyboard or midi keyboard?
Same set as yours I think! Usb keyboard into hub then into Cck3.
I’m looking at the standard sonic port, does that have the same usb connectivity?
It may just come with a USB to lightning cable. See if you can unplug it from the SonicPort and examine the connector. It is most likely a normal USB port, so just use a regular USB cable instead of the provide one.
No. I have the standard sonic port and it’s iOS-only. The VX is the on that also works with a Mac. The problem is just with the cables. The standard one only comes with lightning and 30-pin dock cables. Because they use a proprietary plug on the Sonic Port end, you can’t just use your own cables.
No usb I’m afraid, I use mine be for all my YouTube vids. I use AudioShare to monitor levels and record the audio straight into the video on my iPhone.
Thanks for all the comments :-)
I will have to try and justify the extra £60
And not only that, when that fragile cable falls, even when you are very careful, the replacement is $30...I paid $25 for the sonic port....another reason that I'm using ios less these days. But I use the focusrite itrack pocket when I need to use ios to learn a song. That was $10.
That’s why I passed on SonicPort, now I remember!
Coincidentally, I also picked up the iTrack Pocket for incredi-cheap. It’s been rock-solid so far.
