Upright Piano?
Looking for an upright sound. BeatHawk doesn’t have one (I’m guessing they would prefer I pay $36 for the Ravenscroft app). ThumbJam just has a Grand. App Store searches have proven fruitless.
Any other options out there that I have somehow missed?

Colossus Piano has two uprights, you can listen to them once you download the initial free app. I think one’s $10 and one’s $20

.
Thumbjam has an upright if you look under ‘download samples’
Aha! Thanks!
there is a nice Yamaha Upright in iGrand (IAP)
there are three uprights in Collossus, two of which sound almost identical
and there is one upright in CMP Grand (IAP)
Maybe check out some sound fonts? Sorry, I can’t suggest any particular ones, but I am sure you will find many. There was a sound font download thread on the the forum with lots of free .sf2 files to be had.
By far my favourite upright piano on iOS is the SFZ version of the Sampletekk Rain Piano loaded up into the Lyra sampler within Auria Pro.
The downside is, there is no Auria for the iPhone so you can only run it on an iPad.
Once again, I call out for someone to make an AU SFZ sample player like sforzando. There must be a market there!
This is something that interests me as well - I always prefer the character of an upright piano to a full grand. Uprights tend to mix better with my "warts-and-all" tunes.
So of all the options, is there one that's generally preferred by everyone?
You guys remember this one?

I wonder if anybody tried it?
If you happen to have bs-16i you can download a nice free Upright in Soundfont format (219mb) from here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4_6p-MMrzwLSDk1VkRSVjNJbUk/view
It is quite expressive and organic and has 6 velocity layers.
Also available from my site toward the bottom of the piano section.

I have it. It is nice, though the visuals are more impressive than the sound. But you can put the upright in your living room if your device supports AR.
I gave up on bs-16i since it doesn't seem to save state in AUM. Might dust it off and try it in AB3...
