Groove box pro and presets

So if you spend the 15$ on groove box pro, do you get any of the presets / sound packs in addition? I would deff like full access to the synth settings so it seems worth it either way, but starting with a preset on these soft instruments is helpful as opposed to creating a patch on hard ware..

  • Pro unlocks the synth parameters....it does not give you any additional soundpacks.

    Seems fair.... Thank you brother!

  • As the preset pack IAPs proliferate, it seems fair to ask if Ampify could at least give us a way to mark favourites, as it's getting quite clunky now and awkward to navigate. Of course, user presets are the real answer, but their business model seems to exclude this.

  • Agreed. I really wish there was a way to view presets for a particular synth from ALL the packs in one view. Jumping around between everything organized as packs is a bit clunky.

  • It's a shame, because Groovebox looks lovely and sounds great (although a bit FX heavy in the presets for my taste, as though they've been assembled by people with a morbid dread of finding themselves in a dry place). On many tracks, for example, I tend to tweak the Moth Flame preset in the Sunset Electronica pack to give quite a nice electric piano. It's a real pain having to do the same tweaks every time. I know I could save a song as a template, but often the decision to add the tweaked preset comes later in the process.
I understand the preset pack business plan, but surely Ampify could find some sort of solution that didn't slowly kill off the ease-of-use by drowning it in presets. They were quite vocal on this forum a while back, but it's all gone quiet.

  • I haven't gone pro yet because I don't know if it lets you record automation, that's really what I'm looking for to create all on iPad, I still export to Ableton to do all that

  • DO NOT GET ME STARTED!

What could be the best performance production app family in recorded history some how squanders the opportunity to sell midi devices by implementing a cc agenda and midi core channel framework.

    I love Novation .

I would love to delete all apps except a few and use Blocs GrooveBox Launchpad and my Circuit

BUT NO MIDI MEANS NO CAN DO

We have all been patient with this process.

But the process is starting to feel like the status quo.

If no midi and cc's are coming let me know that I can get back to Gadget where I have control.

THEY HAD OUT LAUNCHKEY APP ONE THE FIRST MIDI MASTERPIECES SYNCING THE KEYBOARD AND 2 APPS INDEPENDENTLY.

Now I can't stop midi notes from triggering things in Groove Box.

    Geez

    Yes venting.

Maybe less time doing live "lets show and tell video series about the devices we all own already." and blowing up my inbox

Live Beats and Bytes....blah blah blah

Let me save some presets on Groovebox

Let me import samples into Groovebox

Let me use midi on Blocs as well.

Maybe some people want more than xfer over to Launchpad

Maybe using both all at the same time. Novel idea?

No you cannot record automation currently

Being able to use Circuit to sequence Groovebox would be good

But do they give a shit.

A wise man said to me........they are the next AUXY

But I said, yeah, but AUXY doesn't sell midi devices........

    Saga continues........

  • Would it not be the best day to have an Ampify Novation person come and tell us,

MIDI everywhere on GBOX as of NOW!

    YAY YAY YAY.

    But that won't happen.

    :'(

  • Things we need.
    Midi
    automation recording
    Save presets
    preset organization
    Import samples
An undo button if you delete something on accident (maybe this exists)

  • Yup. Silence has gotten loud.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear said:

Because these are standard features for a product like this.

So, at one point, needs and wants cross the same plane.

Consensus becomes obnoxious to oneself, creating resentments with each keystroke.

    Too much?

  • You did that in Groovebox?
    Not bad.

  • Lole no midi still? Im gonna go see if i can still apply for a refund for the synth. Its probably too late though as its been SO LONG. It sucks when obviously capable coders get away with bullcrap like this. It can only be chalked up to laziness.

  • Update: nope, way too late. Ridiculous

  • Yeah, undo would be amazing too.

  • @Tarekith said:

    Yeah

    That's a little complicated request

    Easy there fella'.

  • There’s no automation, there’s no proper song mode, there’s no user presets, you can only get velocity variation with an external midi controller otherwise you’re looking at gratiuitous piano roll wanking so expression is limited with the app by itself and on top of that, presets are a chore to navigate, there’s no “init” for the synth. What do we really have here? Just an 8 track loop maker for a solid synth engine. Honestly there’s no reason to continue using this app unless you are totally in love with those sounds. But cmon, even Figure has automation and a unique rhythm sequencer thing.

If a groovebox is what you’re after, get Groove Rider if you don’t already have it. And apparently user presets and midi out is on the menu for that.

Oh an I forgot to mention that they charge an arm and a leg in music App terms for the privilege of making some static loops with a pretty good synth

    So you aren't a fan?

    LOL

  • @RUST( i )K I’ll admit am I fan of the synths. But when the sound is the only unique thing and everything else is lacking some basic functionality and also not particularly fun or unique, then it becomes just a constant reminder of “oh shit I forgot I can’t do that in here”

  • @RUST( i )K Dude, I feel your pain. B)

    I agree

    It is frustrating.
