  • I use reaper right now. I am just trying to do everything from my ipad. My Alienware laptop is starting to show age.

  • Using reaper your laptop would have to be a pentium 3 not to work. (Even then it might!) I track everything in reaper on a 7 yr old macbook and it doesn't sweat. To edit a single track and export should be no issue either. Also, I think auria can import mp3 files.

  • Sorry for the off topic : Pentium 3 still alive in studio for playing mp3's and 4 track mixing with reaper!

  • Ok, so reaper runs on p3, so unless you have a p2 Alienware reaper still functions! Just hook up your serial midi interface and save your songs to floppy discs and you'll be set.

  • It's a core 2 duo Alienware m11x first generation. So it's not slow and it works for audio editing but I am mainly wanting a more mobile solution since the battery on my Alienware only lasts about an hour.

Also editing the sermons are about the only thing I even use my laptop for so it would be nice to know that if it crashed I would not have to buy another computer, I could just use my ipad.

  • I feel like I am beating a dead horse but I found this in the description of master record.

"After recording you can cut any part of track," I could not find any videos so does this mean I can edit the waveform?

It says it supports flac and mp3 as well so it seems it could work for my purpose. Can someone confirm this?

  • No, it doesn't really do editing like you want to do. Twisted wave and Hokusai do though. And auria does (as well as much more). Master record is good at what it does but it's not an editor.

  • Ok so I think Hokusai will do the trick with wav files then I just need to convert it to a mp3 using a free app on my android phone.

Looking at twisted wave it seems iTunes file sharing or a web browser for input? Could I use Dropbox to import my files? I like that it can export as mp3 straight to an FTP server. I'm going to email the developer.

  • I found the app. Well as soon as it is updated.

    Hi Mitch,

I have checked the FLAC format, and it was not too difficult to
support it. It will be supported by TwistedWave for iOS with the next
    update.

    Regards,
    Thomas

  • Very cool! Flac and ogg are both good formats. I'm not sure if twisted wave does ogg files, and I don't use them much anymore, but thanks for reaching out to them.

  • He updated it to allow the use of .flac files. Although you can't use the open in function yet to open a .flac file.

I sent him an him to let him know and I got another quick response and that ability will be added to the next update. The web browser upload works great.

It is a really great app for audio editing cutting splicing. It's made my job of editing sermons at my church super easy since it has built in FTP upload. I can do everything from 1 app.
