kosmonaut experiments
I have thoroughly enjoyed this new app! Thus far I have tested it out with my electric kalimba and it transported me to a whole new universe. Instantly gratifying and a joy to play. Than I wanted to give it a go through AUM so I tested it with odd: hang. It gave the hang drum such a chill multi dimensional vibe and eerie sound. I can’t wait to record with it. Than I fired up the Korg DW8000 midi’d it up to a Yamaha DSR1000 and ran AUM with kosmonaut. I feel like an interplanetary astronaut even though I haven’t left my bedroom in 4 hours straight. Now I completely understand the naming of this app. I think pads, strings, bell or chime type tones all benefit greatly from this app. I need to go start dinner and lay off the kosmo for a bit. I am excited to check it out with the c64 and gameboys tomorrow when I have my “me” time. What experiments have you guys done so far that really blew your mind with it? I know Im just at the tip of the iceberg experimenting with various instrument configurations and presets but so far I am pretty mind blown.

You are correct on all counts. Kosmonaut give new texture to sounds that makes them come to life. This is one of the first works I have put together and it is very heavily steeped in Kosmonaut. In fact the song started out with the name Kosmos but that has been taken by a much better work than mine. But I have run Tardigrain, Animoog some Ruismaker and other stuff through Kosmonaut to get this...

Pretty cool track dave. I like the over all feel and ambiance. It has a cool vibe and I can definitely here you rocking the Kosmonaut. I have yet to pull the trigger on ruinsmaker but it’s on my want list
Thank you for the kind words. But its real hard to screw up with all the great tools like Kosmonaut and all the other very fine apps out there. All of @brambos apps are absolutely professional and straight forward, just brilliant. I would move all his apps to the top of any want list. Very inexpensive for what you get.
Thanks again.
Yeah we are pretty spoiled in this day and age with guys like him cranking out legit apps. So far everything of his I’ve bought has been making me delete similar apps
Nice track bro!
Thank you very much that means a lot.
How do you get it to sync to the bpm when selecting 1/16ths? I’m using Audiobus 2. There doesn’t seem to be a bpm setting- or a Link option. It seems to be fine as an audio unit extension in AUM but sometimes I like to just use Audiobus.
Each time I launch it as an inter app audio in AUM or AudioShare it crashes each time?
Also what is the 1-8 beat selector actually doing?
Cheers
Just use the AUv3, that’s what it was designed for. I just added the bare minimum of standalone functionality (e.g. no tempo sync) because Apple annoyingly refused to let it pass App Store review without it. But frankly I don’t see any reason to use standalone over the AU.
If the IAA crashes in AUM, that’s probably the known iOS quirk of not having Microphone access authorization. Just go into settings and make sure Microphone access is enabled.
The tape loop length sets the tape duration when you use the sound-on-sound looper mode.
Aah- thanks for that..... everything seems clearer now.
