Best Orchestral Soundfonts in $100-300 range

I'm interested in purchasing a set of orchestral soundfonts (either individual files or a GM). Because of the software I am using, I am NOT considering vsti instruments as an option, unless someone has an easy way of going from vsti to sf2/sfz (otherwise I would have gone with Garritan in a heartbeat!) My budget is around $300. I have already tried a bunch of free ones, and none seem satisfactory. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Of course "orchestrial" is a wide range. But if you really want the high quality stuff i would say VST and especially Kontakt libraries are the way. F.e. today (just a few hours) is a huge one day sale on Spitfire´s Albion V Tundra for $199 (normally $459) which is amazing.
I don´t think there are really much better soundfonts than the free stuff you can find.
    Good luck!

  • Thanks for the comment. I am using procedurally generated music generated during the runtime of the application, and I don't know how I'd manage to do that using VST. Any suggestions?

  • If your program could be programmed to generate the music as midi data, couldn’t that be routed to a DAW hosting vstis?
