External Control of Multiple Synths in AUM

I had this awesome layered sound going in AUM with Model D, Zeeon and Mood playing on my MicroKEY...and realized I couldn’t figure out to A) change the function of the modulation wheel in Model D, and B) filter the mod wheel from affecting certain synths. Any suggestions?

You should try to disable to modwheel connection in each synth first. Each one is different. In Model D, you flip these two switches off.

I don’t have those other 2, but you should be able to find the way. Her is Poison 202. You have to go into the patch editor to find the modwheel settings.

Here is Kauldron. You go into the mod editor page and assign the modwheel here.

So you get the idea. Just turn the modwheel off on the synths you don’t want to affect.

Now to assign the modwheel you have to assign your controller to your synths as well as Midi Control in AUM.

Then go into the Midi Control editor and go into the parameter controls for your synths in here.

Scroll around until you find the parameter you want to control. Select it to open the mini editor for the parameter. Hit the Learn button and then move the modwheel. The parameter will now be controlled by the modwheel. I have OSC 2 volume being controlled here, with the midi learn already done and the parameter assigned correctly.

Now repeat that midi learn routine for any or all parameters you want to control with the modwheel. Some parameters might be switches and such, so the modwheel may not work for those types.

  • Thanks, @CracklePot, you are awesome for providing that detailed explanation!

  • @oddSTAR You’re welcome. B)
