Model D ccmap sharing?
hey all, ok....so I mapped Model D to one of my midi controllers using my Ipad, then I wanted to run Model D on my Iphone and use the same preset map to avoid remapping Model D on my tiny Iphone 5s screen. I shared the CCMap to my Icloud drive, but it saves as a Model 15 CCmap????? tried changing the name to Model D CCMAP, that didnt work either, in the end I just ended up mapping Model D on the Iphone again.......so has anyone had any success in sharing and reloading a CC Map in Model D?
Comments
It saved it as a Model15 CC Map for me as well. However, I was able to successfully load it on my phone after creating it on my iPad. Maybe shut everything down, restart and save the map again?
Do you mean the name doesn’t matter, Model D or Model 15? Like maybe they use the same CC mapping scheme and are cross-compatible?
I’m not entirely sure. The whole thing seems a little buggy. For example, you save the map with a unique name inside the app. But when you go to “share” that map it doesn’t retain the name it was saved as. It’s always called MODEL15 CCMAP.mdm. And for whatever reason that file’s icon is the Elastic Drums icon.....?
Ugh. That’s pretty bizarre. I suppose the .mdm extension could be somewhat generic, and many apps may be associated with it. For some reason, Elastic Drums wins the icon display battle. Does it give you various Open in choices when you try to import it?
Portable MIDI Map definitions == good. Very very good! Sounds like it's there, just not quite there there. Heads up @MoogMusicInc.
I just couldnt open or load it on my Iphone, I saved it to my icloud drive and saw it there but no option to open it with Model D, in all I spent like 15 or 20 mins trying and in the end it only took a couple minutes to just map it to my controller again on the Iphone
When you say “no option to open it with Model D” you mean it didn’t show up in this view: Share > Browse CC Maps.....? Or were you trying to “open in / copy to” from the files app? Just making sure because it appears you can’t use the “open in / copy to” command from the actual file on iCloud. But within Model D it’s very easy to browse and load the maps you’ve saved by going to the share menu.
Yeah, from the file itself on iCloud it gives me the option to “copy to” > Elastic Drums / DropBox / and something called Sliver. I’ve no idea what Sliver is....going to have to go investigate.
It's by the mighty @distraub, same dev as glitch breaks.
Sorry for that oversight, we'll get that fixed for the next update.
