Fortamento - Music Ideas Generator

edited April 2018 in General App Discussion

New iPhone app in the app store I think.

Key feautres:

  • Midi file export
  • Tempo / Key control
  • Manual melody editing
  • Save tunes
  • Various instrument sounds

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • I really like this. Very simple and I wish it could accommodate other scales besides Major/Minor but it makes some nice little ditties.

  • Much promise. Needs an iPad version, and some development, but well worth buying.

To be honest, what was done on the desktop was very interesting and I'm going to watch that a second time.

But the role of that iPhone app was neglectable small.

I think the role of the iPhone app was to get the ball rolling. Personally I wouldn’t want an app to do all the heavy lifting, but something that provides the initial idea and gives me a foundation to work with? Can be very useful.

I’d think of it more as a 99 cent spark generator.

  • Just heard back from the devs. They plan to add midi out, no Idea how soon. They hadn’t considered AU3, but are thinking about it now.

I would much rather they added alternate scales. What use would AU3 be?

Multiple parts of composition using midi out to play instruments from any midi in capable app.
