  • I think the pack needs a set of drum sounds - who’s up for it?

I'll see if inspiration strikes can't promise anything though...

Single drum-sounds/hits are quite easy to make but making them interesting playable across the keyboard and varied velocity range is a challenge.(This is where X-Mod/FM-Type percussion sounds shine).

Claps are noise, and maybe 2 LFO's(One square for amplitude and ramp one-shot for high pass filter).

    Resonance-Sweeps for Kicks.

As said, I'll see if I get inspired to do drums :D

  • Regarding doing percussion with Zeeon.
It would be super handy to control the 'curve' of the envelopes for more snappy/sloppy-ness.

Zeeon can do some nice percussions and bells as well.
It´s also one of the good analog kick machines.
Custom shapes/curves for keytracking would be nice as well.
There are some ways to fake these things but then they eat up half the mod-matrix already.

I’m a total novice when it comes to synth-drum crafting, but I wonder what else you’d need the mod matrix for? I notice that Shura PolyTom is only making use of 3 of them.

That one has no sustain but a long release, so there’s a difference between pressing and holding a key and just tapping it

  • Anyone that really gets lots of use from our AB Forum Sound Packs, if you would like to donate £1 to Doug of The SoundTestRoom fame, it would be most appreciated :)

F.e. i mostly need mod-matrix for velocity and also for increasing the modulation range.
Here i often wish it had just dedicated velocity knobs beside the common things like amp and filter envelope.
And also it would be great if could reach the full modulation range within one slot.
    Otherwise the mod-matrix is great!!

  • While I find the mod matrix quite sufficient for the simple stuff I do, compared to the matrix setting I’ve had on some synths that allow some quite complex maths to be used, it must seem very simple to some.

As a self confessed ‘novice’, I’m sure you will soon get the hang of the basics quickly. The Zeeon tutorial patches are a good place to start. Then dissect the Brice patches if you have them :)

  • Love the new brice contributions.

Nice sounds and lovely to have a demo :)

  • @Fruitbat1919 Sent some drum sounds your way :p

  • @Fruitbat1919 I'm late to the game here, but below are all the Zeeon presets I've some up with since it's been out.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/44yfnt9go6hywvu/Daveypoo.znb?dl=0

Hope there's some useful items in there for people. All the patches in there have a bit of poo on them, so be warned

It's the 'weird' patches that are the most interesting as it makes me get all philosophical in a good way?
(ie. what made the person do that sound?!?!).

  • Awesome job everyone! Thanks!

  • I'll try to keep my fingers of the submitted patches until the bank is complete :)
Don't know how many patches a bank on Zeeon can hold, 256?

  • https://www.dropbox.com/s/rpwy3dn0vszjv14/AB Forums V1.1.znb?dl=0

Just barely come around after being ill and here’s loads more sounds lol

    A few notes so far:

    1. I’m so pleased by the variety we are getting - if you can’t find something to take from this pack, you are likely a zombie (and even zombies like it so far ;) ).
    2. Some people may consider some patches not completely finished (such as I often don’t use the mod wheel) - well I consider all patches a work in progress or better still living, evolving aspects of timey stuff :p
    3. Some may need to add or change sound categories. It’s a bit subjective anyway.
    4. I’ve tried to lower volumes to avoid sudden spikes, clipping or speaker / ear explosions, but I do remind people that you use these sounds at your own risk ;)

I will neither confirm nor deny that points two and three refer to me, folks... ;)

Oh, and thanks for inclusion @Fruitbat1919 . I hope people find my contribution useful, fun, or hopefully both.

Who knows, but I’m sure the incoming will slow down now. It’s interesting listening to the sounds explored so far. If nothing else, I think I could limit myself to sounds I have for Zeeon, Model D and WaveMapper - never be short of sounds again!

Or maybe most of us lol. It’s so interesting though to look at some of the completely different approaches to sounds on this synth. While I still believe Zeeon has a certain ‘sound’ to it, the pack shows it certainly has a lot to offer in variety

  • I just want to give a massive shout out to @Fruitbat1919 for a brilliant effort pulling this together. Having this range of patches for a synth really opens it up. I’m excited where this could go.

    Nice work @Fruitbat1919!!

  • Yes, Huge thanks @Fruitbat1919!!

PS. Who made 130 Various Insects of Jasper County?

  • Thanks to all those for their appreciation :) and thanks from myself to all those that have contributed patches, tunes or just shot the breeze here. It really is a bit of an easy one this. I expected a decent turn out for this synth. Will be interesting to see if much happens when we get to some of the less popular synths?

I will let the people who have done the sounds say if they want. I do know it’s not one of the many I did lol
