    Second, as soon as I stop recording the wav vanishes. Disappears from UI and isn't available when I search recorded files. I can see it previewing while it's recording but as soon as I hit stop, it's gone.

    I don't have any of these issues with the iPhone version and guessing I just borked some settings somewhere? Or just being an idiot in general....

    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    Are you in scaper view?
    In portrait view it works automatically as scaper, you can record wavs and save scene etc
    In landscape view it works as looper, so no wavs are saved,

    I just checked this on my iPad Air,
    Like you I use FS mainly on iPhone ...

    Glad that helped... vexed me before...thought I had lost the plot, so I am always having to tell myself to rtfm!

    From igor’s site:
    “FieldScaper has different user interface for iPhone / iPad in portrait and landscape orientation. In portrait orientation the screen is divided between Recorder and Oscillator controls. You can easily record new sample and immediately load and process it in the oscillator. For more convenient use of this application as field recorder on iPhone just rotate it to landscape orientation. This transforms the user interface into full screen recorder without oscillator. This mode is very useful for recording and editing samples on iPhone.

    On iPad in landscape orientation on the screen placed the Recorder and controls for all three Oscillators. This mode is suitable for recording and operating with samples when you use FieldScaper in real-time as instrument with all three oscillators, especially with MIDI controllers.”
