Thanks, Mr. Doug.
@fjcblanco Your very welcome, I'm planning more BM3 Basics and also the same kind of thing for the DAWs
@tja You should share the midi file you are trying to import over on the Intua forum and see what they find out.
I hear you need to be sure you have an instrument on the bank/track first.
I need to watch this, completely forgotten how to use it.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I should be using this, Gadget and Blocs all the time, but I never open them. I just boot up a load of synths and Brambos kit in AUM and soar off into the ether.
Back in the band again now, and today I’ve been attempting to write songs via Reason. Hasn’t gone well, so maybe chopping up a bit of Brambossed AUMery in BM3 might shift the creative Bloc(k) look
Found out that midi files 'must' be midi type '0' to be imported in BM3.
It truly is a deep program...
Edit... off to wrap my head around the Sampler...
Been trying to find an iOs midi type converter... But no luck... only for the PC..

Encouraged by this video, I decided to have another go...only to find I’ve either done something wrong, or the app has a bug I can’t fathom.
All I did was create two banks, using the supplied sounds. A drum bank and a bass bank. Did a bit of recording. All was well. Then flushed with success, I got a bit ambitious, and created a third bank, into which I added the AU plug-in for Embertone’s Shire Whistle.
At first it seemed good, in as much as I could make some noises using the pads. But nothing I could do would make the BM3 in-built keyboard appear, and faffing around with what key was available soon produced a horrible electronic humming which forced me to close BM3.
Reloading, the Shire Whistle was there, but would make no sound within BM3. So, I scrapped that bank and made a new one, this time using the IAA version of Shire Whistle. Result, the sound of silence.
Cannot see what I did wrong. As SW plays perfectly outside of BM3. So is this a crappy bug, after all these months, or am I just not doing something?
@Zen210507 Have you tried it with a different AU, I have a midi keyboard set video out in a bit and in part of that I use Model D and Phosphor 2 and they were cool, it may be SW, I think someekse said somewhere that BeatHawk is buggy in BM3 so it may be some various won’t work, I'll check Shire Whistle a bit later anyway

You could try that auto select ‘discovery’ mode in Blocs Wave. Two or three RTM songs have begun that way, hitting the button until a bass line or drum pattern enrages that sparks of an adventure in sound.
Okay, it might not happen, or could the more than a few random selections before anything appeals, but you lose nothing except a few minutes.

Haven’t tried other AU as yet, Doug, but will give that a go this afternoon. Meanwhile, if you too have problems with Shire Whistle, it would at least confirm that it’s not me doing something daft.
EDIT
Had a few minutes to dabble, and Ebertone’s other two apps, the Jubal Flute and Sensual Sax seem okay as AU thus far. so It may well be Shire Whistle.
Also, I found that I could bring up the AU app keyboard vita the control on the lower left hand side, but tapping the keys command in BM3 at top right, just does something to the bank. All pads but the bottom right one are blanked. Not at all sure what is going on there.
@Zen210507 Yup, it’s a fault with Shire Whistle running as an AU in BM3, at first I ran it on its own, no problem, I could access the keyboard etc etc, then I copied your thing, laid down two tracks with drums then bass, then loaded the SW and only sound on one pad, all midi was correct and tapping the little Keyboard Icon down the bottom left of BM3 resulted in the icing lighting up and nothing else.
So deleted SW and loaded Tines into the same project in the same place with all the same settings and it all worked perfectly, so it’s not you Zen😎
Can you do one for GrooveRider Doug?

Okay, thanks for testing this, Doug. Now all we need is for Embertone or BM3 devs to decide what exactly the problem is with this.
Didn’t know about that- I’ll give it a try!

Yeah, Monzo, you can start with any element. Sometimes, even a sound effect you didn’t know was in a pack can set creative juices flowing.
If you have Blocs running inside AUM, of course, you can do whatever you like with any basic sample sound, via your favourite effects.
What I hope might happen with BW, if Ampify ever get around to spending time on it, is the addition of individual AU effects on a per bloc basis.
Thanks so much for this Mr Doug. Since I'm brand new to BM3 this just what I needed.
