If you made a pad synth for iOS, could you call it “iPad”?
Cause if you can’t that’s on some bullshit, Apple.
Comments
Definitely not.
Would be a bad idea anyway, just try searching for "iPad" on the app store.
No, you can't and you definitely don't want to.
You can't because the word "iPad" obviously trademarked in every galaxy ever seen by Hubble, and you don't want to because... Why would you hide your product from search engines? No search would show your product in the first few dozen pages of search results.
I’d call mine MaxiPad, so no problems for me.
That’s a good point – given the wide variety of pads that have already been created, some of them must have a more masculine character, and others must be feminine pads.
I was trying to be funny
How about Padi?

Aren’t we all.
Stupidity like this belongs in off-topic, not in general. I mean, that “joke” was lamer than a three-legged elephant. Mate, don’t quit your day job. Even Adam Sandler is funnier than that.
That "iPad" idea is super funny!
As an anecdotal example: Apple wouldn't even let the Synth app open-source code example we wrote in the Swift programming language a couple of years ago be called "Swift Synth". The name made sense, as it was the first code example of a synthesizer created using Swift. We figured since Swift itself was open-source, there was no harm calling a free & open-source code example "Swift Synth". Apple is pretty protective of stuff. We quickly renamed the code example to "Analog Synth X".
Here was the original app before Apple made us change it:

My bad

Calling something lamer than a 3-legged elephant and saying Adam Sandler is funnier and saying don’t quit your day job.
All those are good, original bits. You should quit your day job.
But no I’m not a comedian, sorry.
