FX with a decent gate type function
Anyone got any recommends?
I've got jamup, turnado, echopad, filatro, audiomastering and about to get Masterfx, but none seem to do the job of gating.........
Comments
I believe WOW Filterbox has a gating feature.
Or knock one up in Sunvox
I don't own Turnado, but maybe the Filter Pattern algorithm could do the job.
It WOULD be nice to have a nice dedicated trance-gate filter! Developers, we're lining up to give someone our money again! :-)
do you mean a traditional gate, keyed gate or a trance gate? 2013 is annoying.
Just a plain old noise gate with with simple threshold controls would be fine, nothing fancy. But a key or trance gate would be acceptable too.....!
Many of the guitar amp simulators include noise gates, as does Meteor Multitrack Recorder.
Yeah, the gate in jamup works pretty well for me. Auria ships with one as well.
What are you trying to gate?
Basses mostly so maybe I need to dig deeper into jamup.....only used the default amps
Not had good experiences with Auria, on my mini and ipad 2..... the intensity of the cpu useage spoiled most things for me. Looking to incorporate into BM2. I seemed to purchased meteor in the past so might give that a blast again
Ok so BM2 actually has a gate function when recording audio screen, so thats looking like the easiest option. Might just need to re-sample via the bus for any internal BM2 track
i am hopping this effect appears for months. a gate is an effect that can be used for thousand things, from creating easy rhythm patterns on the fly from a legato sound, to transform sounds and their envelopes. at the same time is a non-cpu-demanding effect. there was this threat about it:

i don't know what developers are waiting for. there's no dedicated effect-gate out there.
Glitch1 got a basic gater w. bpm, speed and amount. Haven't used it that much so dunno how well it works. Think it's 99c on the AppStore (iPhone only, but obviously works on iPads too).
Edit: Missed some posts. Thought you just meant a gater/stutter kinda thing.
The intro version of Ampkit comes with a nice noise gate.
