Little OT, best "pencil" for new iPad to paint like you are using a real brush with real paint?

There are just so many and I've spent a lot of time pouring over the reviews. So many different technologies. Would like to get one that I can eventually take advantage with music apps as well, so a little trickier choosing.

  • Just get the Apple Pencil, it's by far the best especially for drawing/painting.

  • Is it true that with the less expensive iPads, you now have to decide between headphone jack (2017) or pencil support (2018)?

  • The big advantage of the Apple Pencil is that it’s more likely to be supported by app developers. The disadvantage is that you need an iPad Pro or the new iPad that was announced last month to use it. Some third party BT styli will work on a wider range of devices though apps may or may not support them.

The 2018 iPad has a headphone jack.

Thanks, stupid me, I've read a post somewhere in which someone claimed that all 2018 iDevices had no more headphone jack. Should have verified that. Sorry.
