iOS DAW’s (or the like) with Ableton Link AND ‘open in’ from AudioShare?
Is there any? So that I can organise play and file audio clips in a linear sequencer- then sync with Ableton Link to other apps (in order that I can sort of audition other potential parts for entry into the main sequencer/DAW)

The only 'DAW' that does Ableton Link is Beatmaker 2 and 3... I think..
OK thanks. I’m starting to think I should have been learning how to use BM3 instead of Cubasis. Ah well- here we go again on another learning curve
I have been using BM3, Gadget and Cubasis lately. They all have their thing that works for me. Would be great to have an all in one but I don't see that on iOS for a long time for me.
Gadget combined with blocs wave for the audio stuff would also be something to consider. They both have Ableton export and link makes it very easy to add new parts to the Ableton version using the iPad.
Yes thanks- I may have to experiment further with different combinations to see what I can come up with.
You have this free app called “Midi Link Sync”. It can convert midi clock to “Link” and also can be used to convert from Link to midi clock. Another free app is “Link to Midi” and is more suited for connecting hardware devices to play with Link enabled apps.
Midi link sync effectively works with GarageBand which has copy paste feature which works with AudioShare, or you can import from iOS files. AB3 with blocs wave allow to record Gadget and all other compatible apps that you can even process with effects in AUM, and then import in GarageBand if you like. Or use BM2/BM3.
OK thanks everyone- I have now discovered that I can do exactly what I need to (and more) by using something that I had sadly- and for no good reason at all completely ignored in the past- and that is the Sections facility in Blocs Wave.
It really is worth exploring if you have not given it time already
