The slogan of MUSERK is "Claim Your Rights."
Wow. I wasn’t expect that... it was related to copyright infrigment or something related?
Did you registered these and/or used a license company such cdbaby and others? These have agreements to deal with that issues. Explain us your experience, mate.
Ps: I ‘m also on steemit and planning start on dlive
No, not then... i will in the future though. Understanding youtube and who controls it will give you great insight into why freedom of speech is dead and why independent artists are starving...
I won;t say anything controversial here as I know it will be censored. I think one of my posts making fun the unlimited genders really offended a moderator here. I wont pursue that... this is about music production.
Give me your steemit link and I will follow you (and others here).
Thanks!
I just got this email from YouTube:
Good news! After reviewing your dispute, Muserk (Sound Recordings) has decided to release their copyright claim on your YouTube video.
I think the issues here are deeper and more complex than most people will at first imagine.
When I did my christmas and newyear singles a few years ago I went through the entire full process as though I was a record label (well, I used the operational name “Far Guitar Soul” as the “label”, if there is such a thing these days). I joined PRS and submitted the releases with proper release dates etc, and also did (separately) the full UK chart registration submission, so that they were eligible to be in the charts. Of course, they sold a round figure – 0, but having been through the process (as a full time occupation) of actually legitimately releasing a single (online only) the ‘proper’ and official way, I could well do the same to another artist who might shift some units. Or myself, with some songs people like. Either way.
As a PRS member I get newsletters and such and I have a vague (I was going to say reasonable, but I don’t pay enough attention) insight into their operations and their tracking and fingerprinting and I must say it’s impressive. Anyone (in the UK at least) who is hoping to sell their product should join up (I can’t remember what I paid but it’s not a repeat payment, it’s one-off) and get involved. They’re up at the leading edge of all this IP business, after all, it is their business.
I agree with Lennon, given that George had a history of skating a little too close to the edge of stealing from his influences. In addition to his Chiffons ripoff, his instrumental hook in Taxman comes from the Batman theme, and in "Something" he stole the lyrical hook from James Taylor.
Yeah I know a bit due some youtuber friends and Peedewpie drama too.
It’s weird an one of the reason to just use the platform to “be there” but my focus is on blockchain.
My user is the same but I will send you a pm with the link.
Cheers!
If you want to talk about REAL plagiarism.... begin with Led Zeppelin! You'll be hard pressed to find something they didn't outright ripoff!

Did you dispute this?
If so, who won?

In that case, bollocks to YouTube.
RTM will add nothing further to their content, while this situation persists. Not that our withdrawal will bother anyone, but when enough people opt out of YouTube, the whole pile of crap may fall. In the mean time, let’s explore other avenues.
OT: I just saw Adrienne Shelly while binge-watching OZ. What a talent!
Rest In Peace
Hi All,
A big thanks to one of you for letting us know about this thread. Firstly, you should know this is a broad issue for music makers in all areas. Clearly anyone who uses a popular loop as a predominant part a tune is going to get hit by YouTubes strong copyright system. Also, so you know, you can easily contest the use of a copyright free loop, and most likely win easily. Where it gets hard, is if a Record Company exerts heavy Legal pressure in a 'bullish' way. This is very much a grey area.
For example, we have even had this issue over content WE created, from labels who CLAIM their artist created them.
Vimeo and Instagram do not have these kinds of checks, and one reason we will be adding instagram uploading very shortly.
Just so you are aware, all our loops (Apart from the Ninja Tune Partnership sounds) are now created by us to ensure the legal status of all our sounds.

Thanks for such a swift reply, Matt.
When you say your loops are now created by yourselves, does that mean all previously purchased loops are potentially subject to ‘Big Cheese’ recording artiste later claiming ownership, if he has also used one?
If that is the case, is it not possible for the little guy to claim the right to use a sample legitimately purchased? Or would that end up as Big Cheese lawyer steals little guys right to use his own work, and nothing can be done?
Oh, and with reference to record labels claiming ownership for their acts of material you created, how was this resolved? Did they see sense and back off, or did you end up losing your own rights?
I miss her more than you could know. She was my best friend. Here's a shot of her in my movie.

Useful. Thanks for posting.
I contacted my publisher who was sub publishing to some other publisher (I think orchard music) and told them to remove the claim with YouTube for anything on my channel. I think I still sent the YouTube form through saying it was my own music on my own channel. It was prettt straightforward in my case as the copyright challenge was saying you are using a Red Sky Lullaby tune and that’s the YouTube channel name
So, do we ever get to find out how the issue was resolved when someone tried to claim Novation’s loops from Novation? Did the record company back off, or did Novation lose the rights to their own stuff!
I think I should copyright the sinewave.

A fortune to be made.
But seriously, even with the US being litigiously insane, the idea of putting in the effort, only to have it vulnerable to some tosser with a recording contract is not a happy thought.
Either these samples are bought with the right to use them, or someone else can steal them if those behind the ‘grab’ are big enough. The legal standing needs to be crystal clear. Otherwise, it is impossible to buy ANY sample/ loop in good faith and with confidence.
Lol ! Please do it , and some white noise and see what happens !
I’d have to patent each configuration of white noise, and that’ll take a long time to write up. A very long time.
