Yes I have two progressions which started their inspired spark in Navichord and are now in Ableton projects for completion. And also in Band-In-A-Box too ( to explore stylistic variations ).
I'll chime in here.
I'm not normally these kind of "suggester" apps (making a gross over-generalization here) - in a lot of ways I feel like it's cheating. Part of music making for me is the struggle to find new chords and new chord progressions, and I just can't see myself using "suggester" or "helper" apps as I feel like it's cheating.
Until I opened my eyes to Navichord.
This isn't a "suggester app" in the same vein of others I've tried. In fact, this is more of a "visualizer" that anything else - it helps me see the chords and the relationships in a new way which leads me down an alternate path than a traditional keyboard does. It's not giving me chords I don't KNOW, or teaching me anything about harmony that I haven't already studied, but it does help me make jumps and tonal leaps I wouldn't normally think to do.
Anyway, that was a long-winded way of saying that this app rocks, and has provided me an alternate path to exploring extended harmonies.
Thanks Navichord!
@Daveypoo , thanks! Super glad to hear it works for you.
Nice app combination
when the day comes that navichord gets that big -ole-x/y pad in the sky for notation/chords and loop recording, ikaossilator will be put to rest.
@nonchai
1) I hear you. I'm working on a design to include it, but not yet reaching the design I like.
2) Should be easy to add. I also had that in mind in the beginning.
3) I'm working on iCloud sync, should be ready soon.
danke
Just one more thing i've not mentioned but - bearing in mind the direction things are headed - MIDI-wise - in the iOS music world:
Please make a version NAVICHORD that is an AUv3 MIDI sender. A pure AU MIDI Effect would be fine. No need to port across the audio stuff.
The reason for this is that - whereas AudioBus and NC now both support state-saving. ( which is great ) - the Apple IAA and other API standards - and hence apps like AUM - will never support state-saving for ISS - so the only way to save state for Navichord when running inside AUM would be if NC was being hosted as an AudioUnit.
Thanks. AU is on the top of requested features, it is on my radar.
Dont get it so so even if NC I’d being hosted in AUM it will state save if they’re all hosted in AB3?
Oh man - Navichord AU would be flat out incredible. To be able to use it as a keyboard inside AUM or apeMatrix... c'mon already.
How can I help make this a reality?
I have Navichord Lite now. I'm considering buying Navichord but I want to know - can I use program changes to open different presets in Navichord?
No way for me to test with the Lite version and I couldn't find any videos online that suggest that program change is available to open presets.
Hi Kevin, there is no program change.
I did the survey but couldn’t select AU... so one more for that please!
Not sure whether this is being followed, but I’ll give it a try anyway. I would vote for some way to sync transport control so that I could start Gadget playing at the same time I was sending a chord progression to it (to start a drum track, for example). It may be possible already but I haven’t been able to figure out how... But I am a noob! :-)
I think these results would be different today....

The examples of NaviChord I’ve seen so far show it playing one chord per bar. Can anyone tell me - Is it possible to play more than one? And what is the maximum resolution e.g. 8th or 16th notes.
