Asking some help on sound design and other things

Hello there, I'm trying to get the same sounds found in this video (https://youtu.be/S3AOpb_fzBY, all on ios :pensive:

He gives the drums sounds somewhere and for the bass I use a Model15 preset.

1) The lead sound (30:19) : can't get it, tried with Redshrike and Poison202, my sound is too high in frequency with the sames notes as in the video. What AU would you use for this and what settings (no preset) ?

2) Which AU is closest to Sylenth vst ? (I found Viking but you can't save presets in BM3 :( ) ?

3) What kind of chord progressions is there in this style (darksynth or whatever it is called) and John Carpenter movies ?
(I use Hookpad for chords and melody but there is only the chords for the NY movie)

Regards.

PS  I have watched a course about subtractive sound design but I'm still a very beginner!
PS2 : sorry for my french

Not all synths or AU's use the same midi notes...some are transposed by 1 octave...
Have you tried playing your notes 1 octave lower ?

@Manou, I'm just checking out Hookpad (hadn't heard of it before) and wondering if you use it on the iPad or desktop. There doesn't appear to be an app for it, but I'm wondering if you have you run it in Safari on the iPad?

  • @AndyPlankton thanks I'll try it !
@sch I use on desktop, it's working with a certain browser on Ios (photon flash player) but you can't export the midi file and it's very slow :( If you use on desktop I found that exporting each instrument separately to its own midi works with BM3 import.

Damn! I'm looking for almost exactly that feature set and functionality for use on the iPad or iPhone. Can anyone recommend an iOS app for this?
