It is like an iKaossilator / iElectribe but with a far juicier sound engine etc. And seems like it will be well supported and grow. Only had it two days now but i am finding it awesome and magical.

Okay, wait...it’s definitely an I Electribe but how is it like iKaossilator?! Am I missing something magical?

It has a Kaoass type xy pad too

I am happy, more than happy, with the toys and tools, what I'd like more than anything is less-power-hungry-juice-gobbling. It's got to the point I can all but see the battery running down as I'm playing....

I suspect that if we could disable the Gadget recording feature when we are not using the audio recording features, it would help. I tried to disable the mic access to see if it helped, but then you can’t use midi. So no help at all for me. I need the midi.

  • I think their next move will be to make Gadget available for the PC. The Korg Collection is, so why not Gadget?

Are we talking about the little speaker thingy? It's so tiny!

Korg wave drum would also be pretty sweet

This would be great to have, the latest wavedrum (global) has some excellent algorithms which are not fun to edit on the hardware

  • For sure they will make AU gadget finally!
Its annoying that theres the ableton set export api, but still not one normal app that can export ableton sets and use all the ipad has to offer.

I used to always use Android phones while sticking with iPad tablets. I got tired of the Android infrastructure and lack of decent music apps (save for Xewton Music Studio and Caustic) and the lagginess.

I was always an iOS person, but on the day the Google Nexus 5X came out, I thought "OK, now THIS is supposed to be the REAL, "untarnished" Android experience directly from Google, so it MUST be good!"... so I got one... it initially was interesting being able to customize everything etc., but somehow, the whole system kept feeling a bit unpredictable, sluggish and clumsy, and there were like 10 ways to do everything (each of which was broken in a slightly different way -- kinda like Open Source software and Linux), which soon felt overwhelming. So I now only use the Nexus as a flashlight...

  • I'd like them to release an iOS version of Electribe Sampler....Oh wait ! :D :D

  • I hope they come out with a Gorillaz inspired iElectribe!

    Everyone would want that!

  • I’m waiting for Gidget to be released

  • they still owe us LINK support for iPolysix and iMS20 ...

    Good shout !

  • I’d love to see them make iMS-20 an AUv3. To be able to use that neat little synth (which is already the exact size of a standard AUv3 window btw) would be a great way of keeping that fine old app relevant.

    They owe us.

    Yeah

    I like that

    LOL

Just curious, do you have GR16 Groove Rider?

Just looked at the web site and it looks cool but Im not really keen on picking up more grooveboxes.
    Is it particularly good?

GrooveRider is THE groovebox. I've had all of them. Software and hardware. Trust me it is worth it. It's what the Electribe 2 should've been. It's a shame that Korg seems to have abandoned them.

  • Well, I wouldn't mind having iWavestation as an AUv3.

iM1, iMono/Poly and Odyssei would be nice as AUv3's too ;)

I miss two kind of gadgets in Korg Gadget...
One guitar-gadget, perhaps named Liverpool, and a real woodwind/brass gadget (perhaps Louisiana)...

That lets you blow into the microphone :)

  • ...what about usable preset management.
...or double tap to default in ArpOdyssei.
I guess that‘s too much to ask for?

Play it in conjunction with the erase function while recording and you have iKaossilator style note replacing. I think Jim said he might just add a new optional recording mode to cover that as well which will be even smoother

Yes some string instruments with a plucky, strumming interface would be nice.

    +1

Marseille has a really good acoustic guitar sounding harp preset, better sounding than any of the M1/Wavestation presets.

The Frieze Clavinet and Madrid gadgets are competent at electric guitar sounds, particularly with distortion added.

Turning the damper on in automation or a midi controller is the secret sauce for stringed instruments.

+1. That and a few updates for the old fellers, and I’d be happy. Can’t run Gadget on this thing as it heats the iPad up like a stove and eats up battery life.

I just want KORG to give ODYSSEi Ableton Link support so I can sync the amazing built in ARP SEQUENCER re-creation to one of my favorite iOS DAWs.

Exactly! I just keep getting demoting it for that reason only. Has anyone had any luck getting responses from the Korg dev when submitting requests or bug comments?

A strum interface would be a great addition, maybe usable with any gadget like an alternative keyboard.

Just a question on the damper tip...
Are you using it with automation to get a simulated finger mute type of effect?
