    Why is it that I’ve never heard of this guy until he died? Can his death be THAT much of a news item? Set me straight, if possible...

    You probably don’t listen to EDM or Top 40 radio. He was the rare EDM artist who managed to crossover to worldwide mainstream with a massive hit song a few years back. Also came out of relative obscurity to become a global sensation, so there is a human interest element to his story that a lot of people like. Now there is the live fast, die young tragic end to his story, so I expect him to become another pop culture immortal legend.

    His biggest global hit was an anthem to living fast with no care for the future, part of what makes his story so poignant.

    He also used FL studio, which most ‘professionals’ were calling a toy at the time...
