Won’t load on GarageBand intermittently. When it doesn’t, you have you restart GarageBand. I even exported (while it was working) and it saved the file w/o DAW Cassette on the mix.
It can crash when you use multiple instances in Cubasis.
Really like this though. Apart from doing full on BOC it can do subtle analog warming if you turn down the input gain and increase the output.
That’s exactly what caught my attention in this app. Kind of a Waves Kramer FX. Is it possible?
Don’t know if you could get that exact sound but maybe something in the same area. The demo videos so far they have left the input at around the default setting which is already quite overdriven. Turning it down gives a less destructive nice tape saturation effect.
Wow! Instant déjà vu! As wonderfully retro as it sounds, I've apparently grown past the nostalgia for the hiss and hum and warble. I do like the warmth though.
BTW, @thesoundtestroom, or others, do you know of a good exciter effect for iOS? Worked a bit with the Aphex Aural Exciter when it came out (and was 'licensed' on a per project basis and not yet available to purchase). I'd love to find something that works well to give that extra psychoacoustic dimension. Any suggestions?
Just grabbed this. I make mostly lo fi influenced tunes so I’m stoked to check this Out when I get home! A combo of this and lo fly dirt and master record should help make my tunes sound like faded polaroids in the bottom of an attic chest
let us know if you achieve that polaroid .. as I'd like this app but the fact that it's au only is just very uncassette like
FabFilter Saturn -> Mastering -> more exciting (DAX)
Thanks for the tip! I’ll give that a try when I’m in AP next.
Moebius Lab has an Exciter effect node built-in
"- EXCITER The Exciter Node distorts the signal below (Saturation) or above (Excitation) a given frequency."

I have been stupidly dismissive of tape emulations (whatever gets you what you hear in your heads, friends) so I headed in here to silently smirk, but... @skiphunt story about the phone call with his mom just brought me to a full stop. Rewind the tape and listen again. And again. Art never trumps the raw gut punch of reality, does it? The best it can do is bring us to the edge of the cliff where we get the illusion of actually falling or jumping off. My fuss over "is it real or is it Memorex" seems more quaint than ever.
At first play this app has a great sonic quality and is way more subtle than the extreme settings of Master Record. The warble is the main attraction for me and this has it on lock with the motor quality knob. I’ve only tried this on the melodic content of my track so far but really looking forward to playing with it more.
So far Master Record wins for extreme warping and KDC wins for the wArmth and saturation
thanks Gt
