I’ve been reluctant to take the beta invite because things have been going relatively smoothly for me and I’m enjoying it.
Any chance I’ll get to keep my presets?

Yeah, don't join unless you don't mind schenanigans... There's still a bit of work to do before release

Thanks for the heads up on that.

  • Michael just sent you some test results. Had 5 instances of SynthMaster One and Ruismaker all going into Cubasis but when I hit stop in AB3 I couldn’t get all notes to stop playing back, is there a possibility to add a panic button? By the way thanks for the cpu meter really handy and I wish it could persist in any view if possible.

    Thanks!

  • FX REORDERING!!! I AM IN HEAVEN!!!!

  • I like this new version of AudioBus a lot! Great improvements.
Where should we post suggestions and feedback? Is this thread a good place?

  • Thanks! That's great to hear. Email me directly: [email protected]

  • Hi, :) Any chance to add me in as a beta tester? I did update to Audiobus 3 as soon as the Rozeta Sequencer Suite was out to only find out that it does not actually yet working with AUX Midi? o:)

  • Thanks! :) testing

  • Please please please, midi CC to control transport! I can't believe I'm the only one asking for this! Am I?

  • You're not - and it's coming, along with a lot of other MIDI control stuff, but in 3.2. Few more critical things I had to attend to first.

Yeah, I know, I've been told this many times. This is not nagging I just don't want it to slip off the list ;)

  • @Michael what's your long term vision for AB? One source of frustration with iOS is that we have all these AUv3 hosts that do cool stuff but are impractical for the legions of musicians who are playing another instrument live, using the iPad or iPhone as a "brain". Crucially, we don't want to be staring at a glowing screen to change settings, presets, etc. Your apps are the gold standard on iOS for deep and thoughtful MIDI bindings that allow live musicians to perform without thinking about or looking at a device. Any chance that you could bring the "program change" load project MIDI bindings from Samplebot into AB3? That alone would be a game changer for live musicians. Anywa, thanks for the recent updates to AB3--the beta is looking good.

  • Thanks @lukesleepwalker ! Pretty much exactly what you describe - AB3.2 is going to be all about MIDI control and sync for interoperation with other gear

Can't help but notice the similarities between latest AB3.1 beta and Samplebot UI. Do I sense a convergence or is it just easier to reuse UI design components?

Been playing a bunch with the latest beta. This is top notch work! The new features are uniformly useful, everything feels polished and intuitive, the animations make everything fluid... Wonderful to see AB improved and refined.

  • Can't tell you how great that is to hear, @lukesleepwalker! Thanks! It's easy to get caught up in bug hunting and just see it all as a bunch of problems this late in a release cycle, so it's great to hear that it's heading in the right direction!

As for the design, well, I tend to have a pretty limited design language at any one time, and generally address similar needs in the same way. It's mostly a combination of laziness and a limited skillset ;-)

  • It's funny that @Max23 mentions how quick he can get something going--that's exactly my litmus test, too. And with the latest beta version, I can just get in the flow and everything pops up where I need it. Good stuff.

Really looking forward to the MIDI controller bindings... Obviously the mixer controls are easy targets (please consider options for cueing the mutes and un-mutes by Link end of bar quanta--so important if you have another instrument in your hands) but I'm most excited by the prospect of being able to load presets from a MIDI controller--it's a glaring hole on iOS for live performers to switch setups without appearing like they are checking email between songs...

  • Yeah, also per-app/AU quantised transport, I think
