Rhythm Guitar app?

Is there an app out there that will act like a rhythm guitar?
Something simple, but not a sample because then each hit sounds the same.

There are a ton of guitar apps, but they are all made more for noodling or strumming.

    Well AFAIK they're all sample-based other than Geoshred, but Geoshred isn't really geared towards rhythm playing. Depending on what kind of sound you're after Jam Maestro might be worth checking out. Otherwise ChordBot or one of the Session Band apps would be my recommendation, both of those can do rhythm guitar in any key.

    I would go with Jam Maestro and Echo Guitar as first options. Guitarism, Guitar Capo and OMGuitar as second options. And third, just layer 'string by string' using GeoShred, iFretless and Garageband.

    It’s gonna sample based but I heard the same outfit that does the excellent “Steve Gadd Loops” for ios is working on a loop based guitar app. Should be good.

    I'm interested in a rhythm guitar app with extensive pattern library. It seems that Echo Guitar has that library, but it has not been updated since 2015.

    Is there anything else with such a pattern library?

    Not that I know of. It would be awesome... something like Lumbeat's apps or Drum Session for guitars :wink:

    I know sampletank and yamaha mobile music sequencer and/or Drum Pad and Synth has some patterns, but not enough :\

    you can construct a decent chong chukka chukka type thing in Garageband by strumming the rhythm in the chord view and then going into the piano roll and carefully placing palm mute markers across the strums which you want to be the 'chukka's. I find that I also have to shorten some notes in the piano roll when doing this as the GB guitar has a minimum note length which is a tad too long for this kind of playing. It's a meticulous and annoying task but the end result sounds pretty good.
