FYI

FYI: if you're getting pops playing certain synths, it may be a good idea to make sure you have at least 3.5 gig of space free. I did some testing with Micrologue in Cubasis, and it was pretty consistent. Anything too much below 3.5 gig and I got pops. This was done on ipad 2.

  • Ouch!!! I don't think I've had that space since the week after I bought mine.

  • @mgmg4871 is correct. It has been documented in Steinberg's forums that Cubasis needs at least that much space to work properly--for mixdown/bouncing, for processing, for apps, etc.

  • Seriously? I feel like I've made some huge achievement when I'm able to get over a GB free. I need to have 3.5 free? Holy wow. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do that.

  • Just delete BeatMaker 2 :)

If Cubasis needs at least 3,5 GB on the NAND to work properly, that would be an issue with Cubasis that Steinberg should look into. Apps reside in RAM or not at all (I really wish Apple would make use of the NAND though as paging, since 1GB of ram doesn't work anymore). Streaming audio from the NAND can cause buffer issues/stutters on audio tracks etc, but you'd need to record/stream quite a lot of tracks. A full NAND will decrease performance in that area (kinda like a fragmented drive on your computer), but you shouldn't need 3,5gb free space on a 13,6gb iPad 2 (or whatever).

  • Or just do what Paul said

  • @mgmg4871: you realize that we were all basically paralyzed here while you were taking your change of scenery. You're back and now the bus is rolling again!

  • You were probably able to save a few bucks also.

  • Sounds like a good time to purchase a new 128GB iPad...

  • 2.4 is as good as I can manage. Cubasis will have to manage until I get another iPad :P
