  • Here's hoping against hope that Drambo will include a Buchla-style Complex Oscillator:)

    That brings a question:

A man standing behind his product...

    or a publicity stunt?

This makes Bernese look like an amateur.

    giku is quite real ;)
publicity stunt? I dont know about that.
ppl are eager to get their hands on the new hot shit from beepstreet, that creates a lot of interest.
to create a publicity stunt, this is the wrong place to do that, I guess.

Dude, I’m messing around. You forgot to put your funny hat on.

‘Half of what I say is meaningless’ as someone’s said.

But honestly...the wait is killing me :D

  • Drooling 🤤!!!

    Are you new ?

Thread statistics for nearly any drawn out public release....
Pre release = OMG, Game Changer, Need now, Can't wait, I can't make music yet, OMG.

On week of release = Awesome, Cool, Amazing, Can i have your babies.

Week after release and beyond = Five people constantly posting who actually still think it is more than a piece of software, the world neither changed or indeed some strange etheral game changed either, and once in a while a new buyer asks a question so mundane you have to wonder if the thread is being bumped by a fake developer account.

Rinse and repeat for every "Coming soon" post.

Let me explain. (Lights a pipe and sits in a rocking chair)
In my study I used comparable products at comparable stages of release sequence.

Considering it is a relatively unknown quantity as opposed to Korg Gadget or Steinberg Cubasis it is faring very well (as far as number of views is concerned).

It is also true that when Cubasis 2 and Gadget were first released this forum’s membership would have been much lower than now. Still, great achievement @giku_beepstreet .

Maybe it’s just me but this is the only app I’m seriously excited about and have probably bought 3 apps in total in the last 12 months so I’m far from an excited puppy. I’ve spent days on end using Impaktor in the past and knowing that it will be baked into Drambo makes me even more keen.

The number of views pleases me because I totally root for the man with the limp and hope the more dosh he makes with it the more feature rich it will eventually become, and fast.

Of course I might be wrong and you might be right but that’s for another day.

No, I’m not new in more ways than one but thanks for asking. ;)

  • To me this ticks so many boxes...

    • Elektron inspired seq with p locks (many claim it's present on iOS, but none of them work that way), hope it can drive external AUs as well
    • One-shot sample playback is kinda missing from AUs (Digitakt check)
    • Fm & many other synth possibilities (Digitone++ check)
    • Future Mutable Instruments modules (fingers crossed)
    • The whole thing is modular (almost infinite playground)

The only thing I would like to know is cpu hit, can it run multiple instances, how many... or even better, can AU instrument have multiple strereo outs?

What you wrote was not sarcastic. Maybe caustic — not to mention pretty damn accurate. But I didn't come away with the idea that you didn't believe it.

All is true... There is another powerful concept behind: scenes. Scene is a module that stores every parameter of following structure, you can use any number of scenes, for anything you want.
Performance: It depends on what you built, using 8 tracks each containing Digitakt like structure takes about 15-20% on my iPad pro 1st gen. - without oversampling. You can set global oversampling like x2 x4 for pristine quality and kill CPU easily :)

As about Mutable instruments modules: I gonna add them for sure, when everything will be ready.

Hey @giku_beepstreet, I think you mentioned at some point you were considering adding recorders/samplers that could be triggered by the sequencer. Is that still part of the plan?

  • This thing sounds good.

Yes, although usage of this functionality is beyond my imagination. If you guys are familiar with these techniques, could you describe your workflow (e.g. on octatrack)? What you do with live sampling?

  • Cannot wait for impressions on this. Looking sick! The pinnacle of modular music making on iOS probably.

This is one good (longer) example of some ways you could use live sampling, among other things.

I’d imagine there’s some cool stuff you could do with just setting up some trigs and sampling in some ambient or melodic material...instant random-ish grooves.

Think werkbench but with many more possibilities.
