Use Bm3 as a sound source for Cubasis
I would like to use cubasis to control a bm3 bank via midi. I can’t get it to work reliably. Sometimes I hear a sound or two, sometimes nothing.
What is the best way to set this up. Thanks.

MIDI channel per pad or single MIDI channel to entire bank ?
I was hoping to trigger each pad in a bank individually by drawing midi notes
Hmmmmm when I put Rozeta XOX on the track and set it to bm3 it works. However when I record it the midi notes show up on the track but not when I open the midi editor.
The notes are outside of Cubasis range (yeah really, it doesn't support all 128 MIDI notes!!! )
Just dont start at pad 1 in BM (I forget which note Cubasis starts at off hand, draw the lowest note Cubasis will allow, see what pad is flashing in BM)
Could you open Rozeta in BM3 directly, and cut Cubasis out of the chain?
Yeah but for me, I can’t stand bm3’s midi editing. I like the drum sounds though.
Out of curiosity, can it be done with Auria (the full MIDI spectrum of BM3)?
It not the full MIDI spectrum of BM, it is just the full MIDI 128 note range.
I hear ya. I don’t get the midi implementation hardly at all. So much menu diving, too many places to setup midi, weird knob setup, confusing as hell.
I am sure it makes perfect sense to many, but for me it is a strange beast.
Can it be done with Auria?
No idea, I dont use Auria, so cant comment.
I came up with a solution. Used the bm3 midi learn feature to map cubasis notes to bm3 pads
Using focus actions like that only allows you to use 16 pads, if you try to use more pads or even a second bank it wont work.
If you need more you will need to do what i said.
Cubasis is only missing the lowest octave compared to full 128 note BM3, so try starting your pads from pad 13 in BM3, instead of pad 1. I believe this is what @Samplemunch is recommending, yes?
So it looks like C0 in Cubasis triggers pad A1.25 in BM3. How do you move the pads?
I was thinking of ignoring the first 12 pads and load samples to pads starting from Pad 13, or pad A1.25 (not sure what that number means) as you have stated as the lowest pad to respond to Cubasis.
I think maybe you need to skip 2 octaves and start on pad 25. I suppose that is what A1.25 means - Grid A1 Pad 25.
Yeah, I tried it and it works by starting your pads in BM3 at pad 25. To move pads, I only see copy/paste one at a time as an option. Anybody else know a faster way?
In BM3 parlance a grid is a bank, so it's bank A1 (Banks are grouped A1-8 B1-8 etc) pad 25.
Copy/paste is the fastest/easiest way to move pads around.
