IRig Keys i/o
Has anyone tried this? If so what’s your verdict?
Comments
I have the 49 key version, and am really pleased with it. Nice key feel, and integration with SampleTank. I also purchased the gooseneck mic as an option.
I have it as well. Works great and the keys are a nice size. I have the 49 key version.
Thanks...how about the feel /responsiveness of the keys?
Hi realdawei,
I actually love the responsiveness of IRIG I/O Now this is not a weighted or I would even say semi. It feels in between. I have always used heavier weighted keys for synths and other sounds, however I feel with this keyboard I prefer to play most sections on it non-weighted than a weighted keyboard and this one is great.
Obviously for piano and other dynamic instruments I would prefer the weighted. I would say it does what it is designed to do. I also purchased the optional power supply.
Thanks for the information and comments here, glad iRig Keys I/O is serving some here very well. We classify the keys as synth action but most feedback we've received is similar to @StMichaels as an "in-between" feel (and others are also feeling that is a positive factor). Thanks again!
I have 25 keys version. With iPad works well. Good keys, good sound like audio interface. But ... This is complete shame with Windows 10. No ASIO drivers. It also does not want to accept a new firmware for Windows 10.
how's the mic?
I hope you have contacted support about the latter. I'm sure they can help. As for Windows 10, per Specs iRig Keys I/O does full support Windows 10 WASAPI for low latency audio and should work quite well. You could also probably use ASIO4ALL but on Windows 10 you may be better off using WASAPI. IK Support can assist there too, and I'm sure they can get it working very well with Windows 10 for you.
I tried it at a trade show and really liked the feel of the keys. Also excellent job of packing maximum features into minimal space. The little pictch/mod strips are innovative and easy to use. Also was very impressed with their little iLoud speakers. Syntronik is brilliant too! Great things coming from IK lately!
Yeah I got the iLoud and was pleasantly surprised.
My ticket in support is already covered with mold from old age. Well, WASAPI can not be an alternative to ASIO. Latency with it is 40 ms. Audio input does not work. The forum categorically states that ASIO support is not in the plans. Therefore, I strongly do not recommend to buy this device for those who use Windows 10. Again, with the iPad there are no problems, everything works fine.
ASIO4ALL should help in that case then, and it will work very well. WASAP should give much better performance than that, you can reply to any ticket (no matter how much mold might have accrued
) to let the team know the suggestions did not work for you.
Thank you.
