Hey Doug, another great video. IAA does work with AB in Cubasis. Matter of fact that's how I get IAA to run smoothly on my ipad 2. I just put Cubasis in output and use node and effects apps. If I need a app that's none IAA I just load it into AB input slot.

Nice pick up..and thats very good to know..thanks man

  • Great job again Doug. Thanks!

  • Great update from Steinberg, and wonderfully demonstrated in your vid - you can hear you're excited!

  • Yeah..I love Cubasis....its perfect for me...usually very reliable and stable...great instruments..and real east to use...and I'm digging Nanologue too for simplicity and a ver phatt sound..nice

Is it possible to keep the frozen track, have it keep track of which IAA apps we were using but have them 'unused' until the track is unfrozen? Or: Do the icons remain on the frozen track if you close out all apps including cubasis and reload it?

    Nice video @doug, thank you.

  • Not sure if it will keep track of em...you can keep the frozen track and unfreeze later, but I figure you would have to keep the effect open..but not 100% sure..

  • Thanks Doug, really great video! Cubasis totally rocks!

  • Great vid as always Doug! Steinberg should put you on their pay-roll! :)

    .

  • Well done Douglas.

@anyone had the connection fail that steinberg warn of..audio just cuts out completely and you have to close and restart apps?

I'm getting it mainly when using imini and seems to occur after 10ish minutes of play or if I fiddle the knobs too much.

Steinberg say its an ios7 issue.
I'm wondering if imini has anything to do with it tho as the fail seems to occur with this app more then the others.

  • I've been beta testing a synth app and that's been happening to me on iOS 6.1.3. I'm wondering if it's a RAM issue.

  • Don't think so.am running the same setup in AB and its working fine.
Have got Nave and isem being triggered at the same.

It is buggy...but they will update....heres a weird one..I had to delete NLog after making the video, the thing would not go away..even when closed it was running somewhere, like you know that every now and then with IAA if you open the synth from an IAA host it does not always show it in the background but when you close the host you have to open the synth then close it again..strange phenomema...but you can live with it...however with N Log I could not get rid of it anyway I tried, so had to delete

  • For me this is not too much of an issue, because I hardly use N Log, not because its not a great synth, because it is, its because all my time is spent reviewing, and I don't build patches so I can just reinstall..but for people have have loads of personal patches it's a very real pain..also to be honest IAA doesn't really for it for me workflow wise...I'm about to start recording some new stuff and I would say that for most of that AB will be used

  • We were spoilt these last 12 months.Im sure you'll remember how AB took their time adding more apps and then eventually releasing the SDK...making sure everything worked.!!
It may take a while for IAA to settle into a groove.

I agree..things do move very very fast these days...and you know I think in part thats due to this community, the way we battled and hassled to get apps onto the bus..IAA will continue to improve and things will get easier for because we won't be happy till it is...we should be proud of our tenacity..this forum has very real power for influence..all in a good positive way, I honestly know of no other place were users and devs interact like this..its got to be amazing for developers to have so much input at the very first instance of release

  • Now I want to buy cubasis, nice demo.

  • Thanks for another great video Doug! I just tried controlling ISEM in IAA from StepPolyArp in Audiobus and it works great in Cubasis 1.7 :) I wish steinberg would have included an arpeggiator or step sequencer in Nanologue or micrologue that would sync with their own clock.....would make bass lines and such much easier!

  • Thanks. Your tutorials are pure gold.

  • Thanks, Doug.

  • Thanks, Doug, how would I find out about this stuff without you? I still havent jumped on cubasis, but i can see it's only a matter of time...Hey, Morris, I'm also ipad 2 but haven't bit the bullet on upgrading yet. How are you finding it? Particularly garageband and cubasis?

  • Works fine for me on iPad 2 better since they reduced the CPU usage. Working with an iPad 2 and iOS Music apps is all about know the limits but most anything can be done on an iPad 2... I too am planning on upgrading soon though

  • Doug in reference to your NLog Problem and IAA apps running in the background. I found the best way to see what's running prior to closing is if you use Midibridge as it lists what's open and what's not.

I also found Audio Reverb doesn't sit that well in Cubasis at present unlike AUFX space which seems Rock solid.

  • Holderness Media Echo Pad is great in a Cubasis effects slot.
