The Sequential Prophet X will be available in the second quarter of 2018 with a projected MAP of $3,999.

Looks like they've added "4 loopable five-stage envelope generators" specifically to drain @Cib's bank account. :)

Lol....my bank account is already drained. Good that i can do some extra hours at work every month.....but working 300 hours a month for my hobby has to stop now.....i´m getting old and can´t do it anymore :o
But really....4000 bucks is something. But then if i think if we see more of these stuff and prices will drop more in the future, such a workstation might be more fun and a better value than a new computer or idevice even.

  • Only got as far as Dave saying something about samples thru analog filters...
Dsi's curtis filter is probably the most boring filter out there. I like the idea tho. Novation have said they will do more fpga waves for the peak. That and a lot of extra change for other goodies

Pretty certain they are not Curtis filters. The Prophet 6, OB 6 and Pro 2 don’t have Curtis either. Agree with you if they were.

That price is one of the reasons that the Audiobus Forum is such a great place. I assume we are all here because we love synths and synthesis but man, I'll bet there are precious few of us who can afford or would afford one of these hardware cadillac synths (which is the category I place many of the DSI synths in).

There is so much energy and enthusiasm here. Great and interesting instruments that are updated frequently and easily. Friendly and motivated developers -- Honestly, I prefer this model. And I'm a guy who loves hardware ...

  • I'll take 3 :|

  • That Video: Hearing Dave Smith say "All Kinds of Crazy Shit" made my morning.

    😆

  • WOW! G.A.S. Kicking in.
    I agree with analog_matt

  • Very nice but well out of my budget. Anyone want to buy a secondhand wife?

  • Well at that price range I think there's another process at work other than wanting a good in trumpet (text predict is great:) to play. People spend more a 2 wk holiday tho. A Harley synth! I'm more a bmx man. Think I'd still take a Peak over all of the about

At this price it better makes damn crazy hot shit.
I still don´t think hardware sound better these days than some good software. But having all the right knobs at the right place with the right sounds is what i could like.....but never ever would i buy a synth for more than a grand anyway.

And while i´m at it and talk about the right hardware controls i just saw this here: http://www.kvraudio.com/news/spectrasonics-reveals-hardware-synth-integration-for-omnisphere-2-5-41171
Could iOS synths doesn´t offer this too. Sounds if that works fine.
Already a bit OT here but since it´s about music.....i already think this is the next big thing really.
They going to support more hardware over time too. Now that would be a real reason to buy hardware to have this control over my software:
