Drum Session - what's your take on it?
do you still use it. would you buy it again? any real gottchas?
Comments
Only iOS drum sampler I use for recording my beats in real-time (keyboard finger drumming ). Nothing tops it in terms of response and dynamics.
Lumbeat stuff sounds good for the most part but his keyboard midi mapping is a joke. I use his funk Drummer when I want to program a beat within the app hence too lazy to finger drum it myself.
just watched their short tutorial on yt. there seems to be a midi out check box and a setting to switch off internal sounds. so can i use it as midi only to drive other drum apps too?
No Idea as I don’t use it to drive anything else. All the options seem to be there in the settings though so I don’t see a reason why you can’t as long as you configure your midi channels correctly.
Drum Session one of my top 5 drum apps! I use it all the time. Worth every cent invested.
which are the others if you don't mind?
Funk/Soft/Rock Drummers
And Drum Perfect Pro.
Of course these fit my style of music as I don’t do EDM etc. more like contemporary worship music in the style of HillSong United and other similar style of worship music.
It's great for what's currently there, but we've been awaiting the promised upgrade with more kits, styles etc for months now. @DerekBuddemeyer's last "very, VERY SOON!!!" promise was in January, and before that, it was, I think, November. Feels more like abandonware.
