Dhalang split keys?
Hi there fellow Dhalang users,
Does anyone know how to split a MIDI keyboard so that you can control different sound generators with the same keyboard? ie. keys from C1 to C2 would control Analog 1 (AL-1), and C#2 to C3 Physical 1 (PM-1).
In Midi I/O, there's the In Port option but it only gives you one general Midi input at a time, so virtual outputs via Midiflow won't help.
+++Want to add that Dhalang is easily the most exciting app on iOS!
regards,
newbie

In Audiobus 3
1. Add your MIDI keyboard source at the top of the Audiobus MIDI page for each portion of the keyboard you’re splitting.
2. In the MIDI effects slot put MF Splitter and set up your splits in MF Splitter.
3. In the MIDI output slot add MF Adapter. Set, “Output Channel” in MF Adapter to the MIDI channel number you want to use for the split and assign the final virtual MIDI output destination to MF Adapter 1 or whichever virtual MIDI MF Adapter port you choose so long as it’s the same one for all of your keyboard splits. If you have two keyboard splits you’ll have two MIDI channels in Audiobus 3.
4. Load Dhalang into an audio input channel, set it to receive MIDI from “MF Adapter Out 1” and assign the synths you want associated with each keyboard split/MIDI channel as desired.
5. Save your Audiobus preset.
Wow thank you so much. It works like a dream.
Hey,
For the Dhalang MG fans out there...
I was playing with Dhalang last night, running 2 sequenced Dhalang analog synths into apeMatrix to run the output through the soon-to-be released iPulsaret AU as effect.
And sending one of the midi sequences out of Dhalang into apeMatrix to drive SynthScaper LE (AU)
Interesting stuff... but I was having trouble with Dhalang only playing out of left side when hosted in apeMatrix... then crashing.
Noticed that the default 48khz setting in Dhalang while the default apeMatrix setting is 44.1.
Reset Dhalang to 44.1 to match apeMatrix and it appears to have solved the problem. Figured I’d share in case others experience the same.
