Moog Model D Classics bank, what songs are they from?

Since I first downloaded Model D, i’ve wondered where some of these patches are from. ‘Chariots’ is I’m guessing from Chariots of Fire. ‘Keith’ sounds like the solo from ELP Lucky Man. ‘Might as Well...’ makes me think Jump from Van Halen, but its not really close. The Jump keyboard was an Oberheim OB-x, so maybe this is the Moog version. Does anyone know where the rest of these are from? Thanks for any help you can give.

Mike

  • So, to comment on my own post and doing some web searching i think that ‘Electric New Man’ is Supposed to be Gary Numan/ Tubeway Army’s- Are Friends Electric? The patch ‘Kraft Bass’ is i guess from a Kraftwork song, does anyone know which?

  • banh mi ? autobahn lead synth

boarder bass - boarder line Madonna

    kraft bass autobahn bassline

west end bass west end girls PSB

....i guess you need to apply a little artistic licence :D

  • This is cool. I am going to have to revisit those presets now. :)

  • G-Thang: "Wriggle Like A Fucking Eel" by Whitehouse

  • Metal Principle could well be another Numan one.

Human Law definetly sounds Human League like, but I didn’t think they were known for using a Moog, so may not be

I have the multitrack to borderline, it's very cool to hear how it was put together. Anthony Jackson doubles the synth bass an octave higher and its amazing how different the song sounds without that.

I ended up down a madonna youtube rabbit hole :D (into the groove was always a guilty pleasure) listening now at those early recordings it's amazing how minimal those productions were. Obviously they wouldn't have been but they could easily have been recorded on 8 track !

Yeah it does sound a 'bit' like the bass from I am the law......but like you say....not done on a Moog, Korg 770 most likely

And who'd have thought.....Volca Keys is the closest new thing to a Korg 770

Borderline is 16 track. And I agree about "get into the groove."

Her first album was produced by Reggie Lucas, who also did that song for Stephanie Mills that sounds like borderline. I think it's called "I Never knew love like this before,"
