    The interfaces always have annoyances.

Name one piece of sophisticated software that doesn't.

    Or person.

    Steve Hillage

Like the look of that synth.

Man, I’ve been a Hillage fan since the Hillfish album.
It started with Gong: Shamal, Flying Teapot... great music

One of my all-time favourite musicians. First saw him in 79, last ever Hillage band tour. Saw him with Gong (amazing), and more recently with System 7. Saw him backstage at a recent festival - he gave me a grin as I was wearing a Gong t-shirt and looked up for a chat, but I panicked and legged it.

JesusX! What a story. I never saw him, living in Norway also has some downsides...
Yeah I was a Gong fan. I was 18 in 79. I used to wear Hemp-jackets and Lhama wool accessories.
Wasn’t it a bloke called Dave Allen or something that started the flying teapot thing?
I’m just using my memory here, I’m to lazy to google :)

I was only 16 when I saw Hillage first, one of my first gigs, and a good un!

Daevid Allen was the founder. Good bloke, met him a few times as my mate did some sound engineering for him, and I looked after the Gong website for a while.

  • I never thought I’d really talk to a person who were into Gong, besides me & my mates
This was really cool. I believe SHAMAL was the first record I bought, then I expected my collection.
I also have Pierre Morlens Gong, with a track where mike oldfield plays.
    This is good music indeed.

  • Gong is for me the European Grateful Dead
