Using Brice's That Brass Zeeon patch for big orchestral horns

I had this short theme in my head, but no idea what sound to use, so I started preset hopping in Zeeon. Well, when I stumbled on the BB That Brass preset by @brice I was blown away! Before I knew it, the whole song was just there. (I admit I did tweak the preset some, but not much!)

iSymphonic legato strings and Ravenscroft 275 helped fill out the orchestra.
Also inside is a barely-there SunVox SpectralPiano, which I used in place of reverb on the Ravenscroft as an experiment (can't really hear it unless you solo those two tracks I think), and some Moog Model 15 clean bass to help fatten the bottom strings some for the second half of the piece.

This is quite different from the other stuff I’ve done recently, just a fair warning.

  • Really beautiful piece of music. Happy to hear that Brass put to good use. Thanks for sharing!

If interested, here are a few more Brass patches I made in Zeeon while exploring this type of sound.

Oh wow this is GOLD! I’m about to have so much fun....

  • @obijohn This is INCREDIBLE. I was listening on my way in to work and I seriously thought it was a movie soundtrack. I think there’s a future in soundtrack composition here

  • Mellow.... reminds me of those trippy binaural relaxation videos you can watch...

Thanks so much! About 10 years ago I went through a "soundtrack phase", and I did some stuff for really small independent short films, emphasis on the "really small". It was fun, but very time-consuming, something like 10 hours of work per 1 minute of soundtrack (unless you don't care about how the music syncs with the scene, which kind of misses the point IMO). Get handed a 30-minute short film that needs 15 minutes of music, and there goes a full month of your life, almost always without pay. Which was ok because I was doing it for the creative experience. But then I had two kids back-to-back and had to stop that nonsense lol

  • lovely evolving track, and pristine sounds

  • Lovely. Mr Attenborough’s possse should hire you without delay.

  • I would adore that download link; sadly it’s no longer active. If anybody would be so kind, sending it over to my username at gmail would be very much appreciated, or a new link here would do as well.

    Thank you!

  • Lovely work! Thanks for posting.

Zeeon is great for brass, but it also does other orchestral sounds rather well too. This track was all Zeeon except for the ambient background which was SpaceCraft. The disparate levels between the instruments is deliberate, I was experimenting with getting a feeling of sound coming from different distances in a vast space.
