Cool, very interesting chords. What do you use for drums?
Those guitar tones are so black metal. Usually I don't like such harsh tones unless they fit the mood of the song... And they do. Really cool. The bass sounds awesome too. And the drums. Just all round great work. Love the softer interlude too.
which DAW and bass/drums did you use? sounds good?
All sounds were from Sessionband Rock. To be honest, I wasn't too impressed with the playing and recording quality of these samples. I ended up doing a fair bit of beefing and tightening up of the different parts once I'd copied them into Cubasis. The drums were ok, but the bass was rather sloppy, as was some of the guitar, and one side of one of the stereo guitar tracks was weak and a bit dirty sounding, like a bad lead or connector. I used EQ to lift and separate the parts, and added overdrive, compression and a bit of chorus to the guitars and topped it off with a little reverb to put all the instruments in the same space.
But the dirtiness gives it a really cool atmosphere to me. It sounds gritty and 'real'.
