Wow, ICEGEAR has LOW CPU!
Not a glitch snap crackle or pop on an AIR2.
Lovely set of 4 monster synths.
I saw some synth CPU threads lately and thought to share this set up.

+1 for Genome!
I wonder if there is any hope for Model D to become more efficient. Not sure whats going on under the hood but it doesn't look like it should be so much more of a drain than other synth apps. Mobile games often get updates for efficiency so maybe they will fix it too.
Much as I love that synth, I change it out for Viking Synth live. Can get close enough in a live mix and cpu is not even comparable
Yep, very nice unique sounding low cpu synths. Like them a lot.
IceGear +1
+1. Worrying amount of synths on my iPad now that it struggles to run.
Gadget gets hot and eats battery life, but if I can run a load of tracks in that without a crackle, I should be able to at least run a couple of Moog's in AUM.
On Icegear - best synths on iOS!!!
They really are great synths.
Do we know about the new one yet?
Real shame that iOS 11 was a "Trojan horse" for kill any iPad use and abilities outside really new ones........
That is the reason for the thread.
Far too common that so many people have issues just using a couple apps.
Viking is a monster.
I have given up on several "newer" apps for this reason.
Funny how these apps and Animoog/Nave can do what they can do but the others with all their "MPE" and other B.S. want to limit me to like 1 synth app without an issue performing.........
Bit swings and roundabouts for me. While 11 seemed to muck a lot of things up on my ipad, it allowed me to run Rozeta, which in turn triggers CPU friendly AU's.
These days I either jam multi-AU AUM lite CPU apps and record them live, or if I need to run a heavyweight - record the audio straight in to a desktop DAW.
Not ideal, but it's still earning it's keep.
I use mostly audio anyway.
I usually only use midi to play things while I play accompanying parts.
I generally record most things via keyboard triggered.
Point being, I am in agreement with you....lol
Absolutely. Viking (to me) is the real most powerful, fantastic sounding, versatile and workhorse (mono)synth out there.
Viking + Icegear (polysynths) and as far as for live performance, I’m more than set for every possible scenario.
