They must modify the design before they make the next batch, and then I’d be interested. There must be a break jack on the input to the S+H, they should stop production and modify the panel to accommodate the S+H input jack that they’ve forgotten to design in, and then carry on and produce this as a v1.1 of their product. Then I’d consider it.
Yup, it's a shame indeed. I was seriously tempted to order. I'm part of the target market for this thing - which is not for experienced modular synthesists who already know all the ins and outs of sophisticated patching and all that. It's basically what a Microbrute would be if it were made in the US out of quality parts instead of cheap plastic and foam rubber (rough guess as to what's under the Microbrute keyboard), and with higher quality circuit components.
Well I suppose being jack patchable, one could always just use an additional off-board S+H or two, along with any other modules you want extra (such as more env gens and more VCAs, for quadrophonic positioning), inverters, lag controllers, gate delays, quadrature ring modulators, delinearisers and log converters, that sort of thing – all utility modules, all theoretically cheap to build.
I’m still confused and appalled by the spring reverb unit. I just don’t get why.
It's currently fashionable among the modular crowd.
The spring reverb was one of the appealing features to me, though it doesn't matter now that it's sold out. My first guitar amp had spring reverb - that's how I got a taste for it. Now, somebody else could be turned off of spring reverb by a guitar amp too, that's how it goes.
May be a good thing for me - perhaps the Subharmonicon or Medusa would be a better fit for my musical activities.
I love the spring reverb inclusion, super analog. If anyone prefers a digital reverb there are literally dozens you can use with your DAW already.
I always thought of spring reverbs as not very good reverbs. But then I came to realise that there’s cheap spring reverb tanks, and good ones. For example, in my ARP 2600, I have a very good spring reverb tank (the long one – the later models had a shorter one). It still sounds spring reverb-y, if you make the mix too wet, but used just as a flavouring, it really does sound good (and very ‘of the time’). Maybe this machine has a good spring reverb tank in it – are there any teardown videos yet?
Some user demos - should be 3 tracks in there (Bass stuff, FM stuff, Sync stuff):
That was perfectly timed for my lunch break. Just exactly what I want. Exactly.
First I was a little bit sceptic but hearing more and more about it I can imagine this might be my first Moog. Never liked the Patthys, especially because of those knobs not representing the values of the presets. Might be a personal thing off course.
I'm hoping they make more of these for my someday purchase. In the meantime, my hope is to acquire a Mother 32 at some point to use with my Doepfer Dark Energy. I think semi-mod is about as deep as I want to go. But, I realllllyyy want a Moog (hardware) synth. Anyone ever use the Werskstatt?
June 29 was what I was told about further shipments.
Ah thank you. Are you going to get one oat_phipps?
Nah, my initial interest has died down. I have an old trusty 1981 Moog Rogue that’ll do just fine
Ah cool. No moog I. Someday though ... until then my ios Moog's will do, and they do nicely.![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smiley.png)
I thought the same because of my Moog mg1 and then right after that I wanted nana again!!
Well, I’m in dire need of an electric guitar so that has a lot to do with it. I’d still like to have one.
Funny you mention that. After I saw the Grandmother was sold out, I bought a semi-hollowbody guitar instead,
Oh and a new guitar amp too.
Did a quick Google shopping search and I see several online shops - other than Guitar Center/Musicians Friend - now taking preorders - at least US ones.
The official Model D reissue is still available at some stores as well; but then again anybody who really wants a Model D or Model D clone shouldn't be looking at the Moog Granny anyway.

Grandma is coming to my house on Monday 🙏🏻😇👍🏼Thanks Audiobus forum I’ve gone from buying my first iOS music app which ironically was Animoog-iPhone for .99 cents to buying a $ 999.00 synth !! LOL I can’t wait . My journey was kind of reverse than most of us. I started on iOS now getting into hardware ,please pray for me to not collect hardware 😂
I owe it to all of you out there and my brother in law who sent me a link to Animoog-iPhone when it was on sale for .99 cents then I searched YouTube for Animoog-iPhone and realized there was a whole new world open to me with IOS music apps !!
Love you all ..now back to lurking

Oh man!! Congrats to you. Don’t go so far into the lurking that you don’t come back with some sort of review or impressions or just Nah Nah, I’ve got one and you don’t.
I would love one of these. Great choice I think!
Lieutenant Pigeon / Mouldy Old Dough
(the b-side was more interesting)
What would you do with the S/H input without a second LFO on board?
