So the automation of AU — is this a function of the host, or is it the AU itself that enables it? This seems like it would be very valuable for evolving sounds.
These ICE apps and Bram Bos apps are just too good to miss any!
Agreed!
Yeah lots of automation possibilities, but can't find emitter channel selection. would be good for a future update to make it multi timbral
On the wish list.
Agree
Also, would like to see some form of copy and paste for the selected particle / emitter layers (unless I’ve missed them)
I’m too young to remember!
I’ll check out Doug’s vid in a bit. I’m not much of a fan of plinky string synths, so the rhythmic other stuff will be the temptation.
I’ll hold back commenting until I’ve seen the vid, since I’ve no idea what I’m talking about at this point, or ever.
Oh my, I just found the drive control. Now I've got a tuned percussive thing that slowly morphs into an overdriven howl. Just lovely.
Yeah it’s definitely got more about it than plinks and plonks. Looking forward to when we make a pack for this one
You got me on this one, made me spit-take my coffee
I must admit, with all the apps I have purchased ( an embarrassing amount ) I don't own one Iceworks app or Klevgrand app. Its not that I haven't wanted them, there have just been little quirks with them in the videos I have seen. So, I just couldn't pull the trigger on them.
@Fruitbat1919 I managed to import your ‚The Krill‘ preset after adding the missing .kronecker_snd_pack extension using Audioshare.
Sounds interestingly wierd with all the pitch movement, even stranger when enabling the arp
I really like your layer C and tweaked the preset into some airy, ghost chimes - thanks for posting
Yeah kinda odd that the export or Dropbox link seems messed up. Not sure what’s causing it, as it worked fine the last time I posted something.
But yeah, I’m impressed with the app. It does a lot more than the presets or even that one I posted give it credit for. It handles screaming sounds well too. I’ve messed with a few of the presets too and turned them into far more nasty sounds lol
thanks for the tip, @_ki. Once I added the extension I was able to get in @Fruitbat1919 preset into the app. It's a fun one for sure! I was able to fiddle with the resonators to turn the original of The Krill into a screamer. The Iceworks folks clearly like those really clean presets but they really don't do this thing justice in the screamer dept. This sounds like metalworks to me.
Can you post your remake of my sound?
Gladly! But let me figure out just how first..
this work? https://www.dropbox.com/s/4ajtms486cjtdke/The Krillshill.kronecker_snd_pack?dl=0
Note that this patch is designed for bass and mid lows. Try D1 to D2 at 100 bpm or so.
I’ve made 6 new presets for this so far. No way near as fast as I make Model D presets, but not bad
I was checking out all my Iceworks/Icegear apps tonight. The only one I do not have is Redshrike. That dev sure has such a pleasant aesthetic going on.
Yes they really have a lot of charm in the design ethic. Really kind of see the ICE apps and Bram Bos apps as the front runners in the design front
Brambos, Audio Damage and devs like Iceworks are providing a real alternative to the bloatfest of Moogs and Korgs. That's not to say I don't love those too, but when my Air 2 heats up and starts crackling trying to run them, I feel like an unwanted guest at a really good party.
I think also being able to run multiple AU instances of say, Lorentz and a couple of Moods via FX in AUM, means you can build up a really massive complex synth sound without your iPad melting over your knees.
I haven't bought Kronecker yet - I'm not really into the bell/plucked synth sound thing, but I'll probably get it just to support a good dev and have another low-CPU synth option in my AU toolbox.
Couldn’t agree more. Love Model D, but my Air2 really doesn’t like it beyond stand alone use! Loved Korgs apps, but many of those sounds have been replaced by the ICE apps.
I think we will see some surprises when we get to group program Kronecker. I’m on my nineth preset in the making - some are twinkly in nature, but it does harsher stuff too. Think we will all be surprised what some of the better programmers here get out of it
@lukesleepwalker That is very very cool, and perfect install too😎
