iPad Po 2nd Gen Tip: save power by restricting iPad Pro’s ProMotion display refresh rate to 60FPS
I do not own an iPad pro but came across this article and thought that others might benefit. Please let me know if this is of any help.

I don’t own a Pro either.
But I am hopeful for those that do.
Great share.
I hope it helps, too.
I wonder if this would help with the crackling issues?
I've just changed the settings on my iPad Pro 10.5" and ran an AUM project I saved because it ran at 95-110% dsp but now it runs at 50-60% dsp and I can open AuV3 without it crackling it. I'll look into it more, but this is a fantastic tip!
Small thing I have noticed is 20-30% jumps when opening an AuV screen still.
I own a 2017 Pro, so apparently I don't need to do this.
Thanks!
? ? Your iPad is the only model that this applies to.
@ImortalTrashcan it sounds like a huge improvement!
Wow, dude, I haven't had time to crack my ipad open today, but I'm sure this is the next thing I will do!
One user reported that it was of no help with Audulus, but I would like to know for sure if anyone can confirm it. Thanks.
I've played with this more. It appears it's not a 50% cut. More like 20-30%. Something I've noticed is loading an AUM project fresh without opening any of the audio units seems to cut the load. It still loads all the parameters and plays when I hit play. But, even pulling up an audio unit seems to add more work in the process. So I imagine it would be comparable with the 120 fps enabled. The more and more I play with it, it seems like a GUI thing.
