Bebot is the first thing that comes to mind. A lot of fun to play, and a fantastic sounding synth to boot!
Oops, I just noticed you said that already
Yellofier is quite fun if it is still around.

I find the sensual sax (and there other apps) to be just plain fun. I even sound like I can play a bit too!
KRFT and TriqTraq are good. KRFT allows you to build your own things.
iKaossilator and figure are worth considering
I often play with Italizer and pretend to be Fad Gadget or some such band lol
Lots of really good ideas already...
Check out Composers Sketchpad (won some kind of award for children’s music app) https://itunes.apple.com/ke/app/composers-sketchpad/id978563657?mt=8
Also Beatonal https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/beatonal-easy-music-maker/id1157803880?mt=8
And Minicomposer (free, pretty accessible graphically) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mini-composer-by-karl-bartos/id427541594?mt=8
My students and my own children love Thumbjam...https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/thumbjam/id338977566?mt=8
The looper is pretty fun and easy, great sounds etc etc.
Has Figure been mentioned yet?

Geoshred
Shroom
TC-11
iFretless Bass
All great fun apps that I no longer use as they don’t fit in with my way of putting sounds together. Would love to see some of their interfaces become available for other ways of working
IKaossilator is the epitome of this sort of thing. Worth every penny. Fun for the whole family. I’ve made countless hours of music with it
More great ideas.
One more idea from me: PixiTracker

For any of these, YouTube as teacher is not to be underestimated
vBot (vocoder) by Erik Sigth is a fun little 2 bucks.
Edit: Scratch that, its not available in the store anymore. Weird, only one of his apps that’s missing.
Loopimal is the perfect suggestion for young kids, as well as Bandimal from the same developer!
Launchkey app was/is educational for me because you can drag elements onto one another and learn what it sounds like when you combine this and that.
Different Drummer
I did an honest-to-God spit-take.
My kids like BeBot a lot, but my 7-year old has had a lot of fun with iMini, iPulsaret and iVCS3. The really likes "twisting" knobs to see how it changes the sound.
Just like his old man!
I think it’s a shame that we have to talk about this to begin with. Music sequencers should be fun and imaginative by default. It should be the rule not the exception.
Quite right- I wonder if there will ever ever be any more sound packs for iKaossilator. I think Korg are just leaving it to rot.
Hell will have to freeze over again
Maybe not for the kids but was going to recommend Erik's apps before I got to that part. Weird fun.
My daughter digs ThumbJam. Has the looper and built in pitch to midi thingy.
Also, Sir Sampleton for super easy 'sample and play'. Bonus for dad: it's actually a 12 part multi-timbral sampler.
TC-11 can also look and feel and sound like magic.
Yeah, I can imagine TC-11 being a real ‘whoa’ to small kids as long as you show them all the gestures you can do. Plus it looks real cool. Probably still the coolest lookin’ music app.
Don’t forget Samplebot!
You're right - my kids did have a blast with Samplebot.
I forgot to mention Musyc as well - BRILLIANT app that is often forgotten. They love messing with that one...
