Nice, I like it.
The more I fiddle with this app, the more I like it. It’s a seriously good trick, to make a synth stand out, these days, and the devs have done a great job,
Heartily agree. It has immediacy and depth--but most importantly it does something unique that gets my creative juices flowing. I suspect it'll fly a bit under the radar but that's ok with me--I'm a fan of secret societies.
While @jakoB_haQ 's video was excellent I'm still not really feeling this one. I realize the synthesis engine lends itself to these bell tower/grandfather clock type timbre's but to me it sounds very wind chimey, maybe cool for some but to me a sound that can be made on several other synths including some the dev of this app makes.
I own all the other iceWorks apps so I'm not being contrarian, the dude makes some cool stuff. This one though hasn't grabbed me enough to buy. I only post this because I am a total appaholic that buys apps 1st day and at the moment I have 270+ apps on my Air 2 with 250 being music apps and probably half of those are synths..and did I mention I am a guitarist first & foremost?
So I'm not shitting on Kronecker at all; to the contrary the forum is usually 95% positive about apps with critics of apps just not saying anything or the apps lauded with praise are universally embraced...and I try to always put over apps that impress me. That's the thing: iOS music apps have a ratio usually of extremely high quality so once you own tons of excellent sound generators, "how many sounds do I really need?" starts to creep into even the most easy instabuy pushover.
I'll keep my eye on it & look forward to what others are creating using the app.
kronecker + flytape= BOC
It's cool tech, but I'm waiting to hear someone do something personal and/or weird with it.
Bank of China?
Sorry never hear of BOC before. What is this?
I’ve used it in this sketch I’m fooling around with. It’s the first sound.
I'm assuming blue oyster cult?
Joking... Boards of Canada, yes?
To be clear, the sounds in Kronecker can be achieved in other apps, most notably the dev's other apps. If you don't see a use for the four part emitter in your workflow, keep moving.
forgot to ask the two usual questions that drive the fam nuts.
Does it have a Randomizer and does it have a midi out that the thingy thingy also takes advantage of?
@kobamoto no randomizer. I’m coping...
too bad, this would be perfect for one
Noted in another thread on this app. This would go on the top of the feature request list. Followed quickly by layer copy/paste.
does icegear not have an facebook page or what?
If they don't them I'm finally off the fence and gonna buy it.
do they ever show up on the forum?
no randomiser yet, but they received my feature request and added it to the list
I also asked for channel routing for the different layers.
Thanks for this video Jacob. Very helpful and funny!
thanks for requesting that!
I think the answer to this is likely "no", but I'm curious if the emitted sound particle sequences can be directed via midi out to other synths?
Never mind. The manual is on the dev's Kronecker site. Looks like only midi-in not out. Be cool if it did though.
