I was actually hoping to pick psp plug-ins and thM amp .. then realized they were not on sale
The PSP plugins do go on sale every now and then.
I just reviewed the Auria product page to remind me of all the features packed in to it that I haven't got to yet.
Hadn't even noticed that Lyra soundfont player, I come across that format all over but didn't think I could use it.
Haven't used their other two synths either, usually I load up Auria after Ive already been making sounds in stand alone synths.
The thing is, Auria comes with a compressor/limiter and equaliser and all that by default? In which ways are they deficient, compared to these ones you pay extra for?
Well for starters fat filter eq .. comp .. limiter all come with a visual /spectral analyzer .. reference which is very important for me

Not deficient, just not as versatile, good looking or better for the amateur sound mastering merchant.
What we find so useful about all FF, is the vast amount of presets, made by people who really know what they are doing. Having expertly made starting points, makes using them a lot easier than the alternatives.
Pro-L2 and the Pro-R reverb are outstanding essential tools.
I could verify the limiter myself by @richardyot 's examples that included the raw file.
For the reverb I have to rely on video examples, but those were highly convincing.
It allows easy shaping of the virtual acousting environment.
Unfortunately I don't dig Auria's workflow (otherwise I'd grab them immediately), but just those 2 would have me covered with all crucial aspects of a mix.
I don't eq much and found the stock eq quite efficient, but the FF versions allow deeper control, as already mentioned.
Hopefully I can resist until the sale ends. 🤢
I know and appreciate the Fabfilters from my old daw. But I would like to stay on the Cubasis-workflow in combination with Audiobus and AUM
I’ll second the not deficient at all - indeed I find the channel strip eq and compressor to be really clean and musical (and easy on the cpu)! But it certainly takes a bit of training/learning to trust your ears. So I’d say the built in is really good, but the fabfilters are best in class.
Does anyone use Pro-G much?

Just got this in the sale along with Pro C2, to complete my FF set. I’m trusting that these filters will make themselves useful in future projects, once I understand them better. Based on this happening with a couple of other FF products.
Have not started using Auria Pro yet so I have none of these. What is essential?

Keep your workflow; if you don’t want to switch to Auria Pro, buy Auria (the regular, audio-only version, which is cheaper) and some FabFilters just for mixing and mastering: you won’t regret it!

What is the main difference between FabFilter PRO-C and a PRO-MB?
If you own the Multiband is the PRO-C still interesting?
If you have to buy just one of them which you will buy?

Think about the MB as kind of a dynamic EQ: if you want a given frequency to behave, but only if tops a given thresholf. More often than not, this approach works better than the usual shelf parametric EQ. If you need a compressor to do traditional dynamic control or emulate the character added by some compressors, you’d rather get Pro C2.
I’m tempted to do this for mastering but I have no idea which plugins I’ll need to buy and how much they cost. Which essential mastering plugins are there and how much are they?
The absolute essential is Pro L2. After that, Pro C2 and Pro Q2. If possible, Saturn for the eventual harmonic exciting. L2 on this sale is about $20, I think. Don’t remember the other prices in US dollars, since I’m in Brazil.
Thanks. Tempting as it is I think I’ll give it a miss and look for decent au options that I can use in other software. Shame auria isn’t iPhone as I’d probably consider a full switch

One day, if you can get to hear the difference between your choices and FF, you may change perspective. We have several options for mastering in IOS, and nothing sounds as good as Fab Filters.
Yeah as soon as you load the Fab Filter MB, the Pro-L, or even the Pro-Q, you realize that they are really meant to be mastering effects for use on a 2 track stereo mix. Just having them open takes a good hit to your CPU. I sure like the sound of Auria...whatever my feelings about the workflow, ALL my plugins simply sound better in Auria than the iOS DAW I've been using. I'm tempted to say it sounds better than the Ableton Live I have on my Mac. That might just be first impression fatuation
To use those plugins in multitrack, just set your buffer size to 4096 and you’ll notice that you can have multiple instances of them open at the same time while keeping CPU usage under control.
