DRC ! to celebrate the launch of the excellent- and free- DLYM from the same dev

Love DRC, but not sure it’s possible or at least easy to make a bank you can compile and share for it?

    Ripplemaker!

    +1

    +1 more

  • Kronecker, PhaseMaker, Mood or Kauldron would be my choices.

I’ve already shared sounds for PhaseMaker and Kauldron though, so Kronecker or Mood for my votes when you do it. I’ve already made 12 sounds for Kronecker :)

  • Phasemaker or Ripplemaker - choose one.

I’m a bit unsure about the use of lots of presets for Ripplemaker. I’ve only done a few as I find I make sounds with it that I alter over time. Static presets are a tad boring in Ripplemaker, but those same sounds rock when you actually ‘play’ the thing!

I know some will find it helpful to have some starting points, but to be able to show what the presets are aimed at is very difficult unless we all give some sound examples. Not sure how interesting a set of sounds is really going to be in reality or even as a Doug video.

I think you are right...too bad. Maybe @sinosoidal will find here some...inspiration for a futur release ;0)

Fair point. If there was some way to communicate 'Hey, mess with X, Y and Z on this one', via preset notes or something, they would probably be more generally useful.

Still, we could focus on more generative patches. Perhaps not 'useful' as a stand-alone patch in other scenarios but hopefully interesting and useful for learning at least. On that note, they could include sequences in the stand alone version of the app. Part AB Forum patch fest, part AB Forum generative mix tape?

  • I would love it to be Volt.

Am getting right into MPE and it’s one of the few synths to offer it.

There aren’t many presets shipped with VOLT and everything I try to make with it ends up sounding a bit samey. So I’d love some skilled Audiobus patch designers to have a go and share their results.

Ripplemaker. Let’s see what this bad boy can do.

Have you really narrowed it down to these two? That would be great to give back a little to @brambos!

Not just those two, but it doesn't make sense to offer both in the poll IMO, because it would just dilute the votes.

Not sure that the dilution argument could be specific only to those two. They are two completely different synths. The fact they are from the same dev was also true of when the two Moogs were in the poll.

  • My vote would go to Phasemaker because it’s great

Sure, but if I include them both they are both less likely to be picked in the end. I don't mind, I can put them both in if people prefer that.

  • In Ripplemaker it is easier for me to include the resulting presets in their own category, which is nice I guess. Phasemaker still has the ‘old’ unsorted user presets system. Just a thought ;)

Same could be said for Kauldron. RippleMaker got a lot of votes originally (which surprised me). Maybe it would spice things up if we vote for our three favs and the synths with the most votes go into a random draw?

I never got warm with ripplemaker... do you have a little tip for me to get started!? This app has a huge fanbase but we never got friends (til now :))

Obviously we need whomever does the Fest collection to have the synths voted for, or someone else would have to do it.

My biggest tip is to make the sequence you want and then make the sound. Ripplemaker works best IMO when you connect a few things and just twiddle knobs like you would playing it live. Sometimes you can have it drone and use your daws mixer to fade it in. Whatever you do, it sounds best if you alter settings either live or by midi.

My other thing is make good use of that little mixer multi thing - helps multiply your options lol. Use Rozeta LFOs and throw more movement at it!

I'd really like to not over-complicate things, let's just do the one vote.

    Layr

We just did that one for May :)

  • My vote goes to Model 15, need to learn that app properly.

As for the LayR patches I do hope we'll get a link to the final May-Bank at some point :)

Of course - but May isn't over yet. I'll post the full bank tomorrow, 1st of June.
